    2. If High Elves can summon Phoenixes they wouldn't have trouble levitating a boat. Or maybe they take off from a parapet.

  3. That chick with the spear is fantastic... that cute little heart shape... i can now hurl "Hello Kitty" insults across the table at High Elf players but secretly have several of that model hoping to convert them to the Druchii cause. I like this release! :)

  4. That sky chariot is just, so, so stupid. Such a shame as everything else is cool.

    1. I t think the hawk looks awesome... But yeah that chariot thing behind it is lame

      Delete
    2. me too, was all "oooo" at the hawk and then saw the slab of fail flapping along behind it. Seriously, that thing, physics just goes and cries in the corner.

    3. Um...its called magic? I actually like it :) Though I also like the storm talon and some other models the public generally dislikes, so it could actually be ugly

    4. I also have to side with the minority out there. I actually really like the flying boat aesthetic. Kind of reminds me of Feanor's flying boat/ship from the "Silmarillion", I wouldn't be surprised if it was based on the same either. I do think that a different paint job might do it good though.

  8. Am I the only one that thinks that the Chariot is the coolest thing in the release and everything else is rather lacking

    1. seems so, and I feel your pain, I was that way with the Stormraven. Sorry for contributing to it. I think I'd like it if it had some sort of evidence of magic to dispel the "tin can bouncing behind a car" feel.

    2. Not the only one, but I think it's just the two of us. I wouldn't say it's the coolest it the release but I do like it.
I don't plan to play High Elves but I might have to nab some of these models for converting.

    3. No I think it is awsome.
      The bird is stuning.

    4. On second look, some of those archers look pretty neat, but those eagles really need green stuffing. Not a bad concept I'd like a more dynamic model though

    5. I love them. I see them floating on the winds of magic with the bird providing a little pull to get them started.

  9. Loving the banner bearer. Looks really good.

  10. They would be better if they wore black space marine armour with white shoulder pads........

  11. I just feel bad for whoever has to transport those flying chariots... 2 extra tall plastic flying supports to break? awesome... I suppose if they are plastic kits (and not finefail) then it might be okay cuz they might bounce before they break!!! And is anyone worried about the yellow dragon in the army picture? Yellow? Credit for trying something new I guess...

    1. I think its going to be a new dragon maybe gold but uses same model? Just a guess I like those archers wow! Magical bows anyone?

    2. Probably just a sun or Moon Dragon. They have 3 different types in the current book.

    3. In Fact just checked the Curent book and it's the same one in there.

  16. This isn't 40k change the name of your blog if it's fantasy too. Drives me crazy faeit 212 warhammer 40k**** news and rumors hits me in the face everytime and then I'm greeted by shitty magic-less floating chariots? How about when that eagle turns 90 degrees and those elves take what? Invul saves? Cause armor ain't Savin them from falling to their death!

    3. It didn't used to be fantasy Pain Ted Rain Red, but people asked for fantasy rumours as well as the 40k so Natfka responded. He also does the occasional tactica and modelling posts on here. End of the day, his blog, his rules!

  18. Well I'm probably just being a dick lol I like fantasy but I come here for 40k because thats what I thought the name meant. Dont get me wrong naftka... I would listen to you talk about fantasy in my garage any day but this shouldn't be the place for it. Start a new blog for just fantasy. I know people would love it more than I do. My apologies in advance, I can see how I might offend some softies. Love you all and hobbit and lotr too!!! ;)

    1. You've got sufficiently upset by the fact that this blog isn't keeping PRECISELY AND STRICTLY to a mandate of 40K that you've felt the need to complain in two separate posts. Yet you're calling other people softies for getting offended too easily?

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm fairly certain no-one else is fussed that Natfka's publishing information for the broad spectrum of the hobby we all engage in. Most of us can cope with the five seconds it takes to realise a post is not one we're interested in and skip over it - though I appreciate that you're going to be slowed down if you have to stop and whinge about it.

Yes, you're being a dick, and saying 'lol' doesn't make that better.

    2. Sorry man. I didn't mean to offend you.

    3. No worries - but I'd suggest that if you find yourself starting to apologise for your post as you're writing it, it might be worth reconsidering what you're writing.

    4. At the end of the day, we all look at blogs as we like miniatures. I don't collect fantasy and am strictly a 40k collector/player, but I'm more than happy to be kept up to date with what's happening and the sort of designs GW come out with for other systems. The Occasional post from natfka to say 'no 40k this month but here's what else is going on in the hobby' is great for me as I wouldn't normally peruse fantasy forums. Cheers natfka, and carry on as you are.

    5. You guys are right. Glad I said something. Thanks for the information people. These kinds of things are important. I just havent realized it without a little regard from others.

    6. What interests me is the perceived divide between 40k and fantasy collectors. I've noticed a lot of references on here to fantasy hobbyists as 'they' - including some disparaging remarks, I add with a frown. It's curious because I've got a group of hobbyist friends and the vast majority of them either have an interest in or indeed collect both. Yeas ago I worked for GW, and the same was generally true, albeit that beginners tended to start with 40k because the game was easier to get to grips with (no wheeling or charge arcs).

So I wonder where this attitude of segregation came from. How did it come about? When did it happen, because it wasn't an issue when I worked for GW (ending 2006). Why do some people act as if being a mono-40k hobbyist is the more elite or preferable thing to do? I can't see any evidence to support such a conclusion. Given that rules, background and miniatures for both are very credible, it simply perplexes me. To a casual bystander it might seem that the 'sci-fi vs fantasy' debate is at work, but 40k behaves more like a curious fantasy universe (probably due to its Dune influences etc).

This isn't a criticism of anyone, it's just that I find ir very strange.

  19. Seriously? Still not replacing the old spearmen? Then I'm still putting off doing a high elf army. Those models are terrible, they have been out for years, and have hands that are bigger than their heads. Elves with hands bigger than their heads.

  20. So, no drake riders then? I know it would have been weird fluffwise but the level of awesome would have compensated. This chariot has to be a joke, its the lamest thing I have ever seen from Games Workshop,

  21. I'm getting ALL of that. That's amazing. I wish there were drakes. Hope these are not all of the pics.

  22. Those shadow warriors look badass as hell

  23. I must be the only one who likes the chariot around here... What's so bad about it? I think is a good concept and the miniature has a lot of dynamism.

I would prefer the maidens to wear ponytails... Too bad XD.

  26. Cool stuff, I especially like the Phoenixes and the great eagle pulling a sky-chariot.

  27. Is it just me or do those magical bowmen and shadow warriors appear to be the same multipart plastic kit?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I really like the water bows, but I bet they'd look more awesome painted as fire! >:)

  29. I think these are pretty cool and it looks like their finally expanding the units for each elf provence. Totally gonna have to put shadow warriors on those sky chariots for my army tho. Really makes me wonder If the guy with sword and sorcery is just a cop out character option for the swordmasters.\
