Both Eldar and Necrons are missing from the large display cabinets at GW HQ as of Friday. This likely means that in the upcoming battle report for the June's White Dwarf will include Eldar vs Necrons, or at least some pics. With an Eldar codex release expected for June, its all starting to line up.

  1. I can see the theory but haven't most of the recent battle reports used staff armies?

    1. Yes they have. So these "omg units are gone" doesn't mean anything about the WD.
But it could mean pictures for the new codex.

  2. Battle reports are done months in advance. This means nothing.

    1. I was gonna say this! :D WD is finished a minimum of 3 months in advance. This is
      1) The Armies missing signifies nothing this short to the supposed release
      2) Battlereports are being done using Staff Armies. The Studio Armies are not being used anymore, therefore: The Armies missing sgnifies nothing.

  3. I'm with every one else. Although Eldar and Necrons are the perfect match, the WD is printed months in advance, and all the recent Batrep have used staff armies and maybe some 'Eavy Metal ones for the new units.

    1. Yes, production takes place in advance, but I've never heard solid info on the lead time. Anyone got a source for these comments about White Dwarf being *printed* months in advance?

To me it sounds like an telephone game/echo chamber result of someone talking about production and layout having long lead times has resulted in people thinking GW has 2-3 months worth of printed White Dwarfs sitting in a warehouse at any given time.

That's a recipe for disaster. Rumor leaks, literal leaks, theft, vermin, sorting problems (oops, I got next months WD instead of this months!)... and worst of all unsold inventory at tax-time!

    1. That's a Gyrinx, they're Pychically attuned creatures that are drawn to Eldar Pykers. They're mentioned in IA 11, as a Wargear option for Voiddreamers, Corsair Psykers.

    1. It would have been Necrons or Chaos. I'm assuming it will be Necrons to help shake up the meta.

    2. Although my original post was facetious I do agree that of all the races the Necrons are most likely, especially since a lot of the old fluff revolves around the Eldar being created by the old ones to fight the C'Tan.

  9. natfka's rumours with regards to missing studio armies prior to codex release dates have been pretty relevant AFAIK (cbb checking through the last 3 months of rumour dumps).

Chaos, daemons, tau etc...maybe not being used for WD but for some promo work etc. It's a good sign anyway!
