Yes, its blurry, but look what we have here today. Warriors of Chaos are here and are to be released February 2nd. Pre-orders to arrive shortly. The pic is apparently the army book cover.

What does that mean for everything else? Daemons for March? Flyers for April? Or do we have flyers at the same time. It does look like there are a few models for both the Hobbit and for 40k, but I cannot tell of flyers are included.

These came from a reader that apparently has his White Dwarf for some reason. Lets see if GW lets these images stay up, or if someone still has something riding up the backside. For some reason they targeted only a couple selective sites last month.

  1. Yay! Time to dust off my WoC for some action! Not sure if my wallet can handle this so soon after Dark Angels.

    1. If you want to try out the new WoC book (after it's release obviously)... give me a ring. I need practice with my Skaven before April.

  2. I think it means your sources are unreliable

    1. its means that most sources have the time line off. Since we have been having sources give us all sorts of dates.

I wonder if that makes Daemons viable for March? We have been getting a ton of information lately on Daemons and flyers, so I would think they are still in the next few months.

    2. I hope the Deamons are around the corner, some of the Greater Deamon models are showing their age, still got some great kits mind, bloodcrushers leap immediately to mind.

    3. Some of the Greater Daemon models? I hope you're not talking about Bloodthirster? ;)

    4. How do we know GW are just sending us in the wrong direction for funsies? hehe

    5. Actually it means sources are spot on so far.. From Hastings anyway. He said we would see books for WoC, DA, CSM and Daemons come February early last year. He later went on to say Daemons would be seen as pre orders at end of Feb.

      Delete
    6. He was a few months wrong with the WoC army book though. But still he's the most reliable source so far.

  4. so everyone was wrong huh? After they were so sure saying "X is in march y is in Feb im positive i work at GW". well somebodys lying. GWs not a top secret organization, if you work there you would know.

    1. The WD magazine at the end of February will preview Demons. No one has said otherwise (recently). Warriors of Chaos were known to be in the works, but this is a pleasant release, yes?

I say the closer together GW puts these armies, the better. Gives a little something for everyone.

  5. Daemons in February could also mean in the WD that gets released in February. The current WD is released in January (26th?).

Anyway, I would like to know if (and what) 40k models get released. If nothing is in there for me I might have enough time to paint and put to money to a ps3 game and a new SSD lol

  6. Maybe if we all say how wonderful they look (squints so much eyeballs pop!), GW will allow them to stay?

As a daemon player, yes I am disappointing and slightly worried but Hastings did say a long time ago that we would see books for CSM, WoC, DA and Daemons before Feb. I started to doubt when WoC didn't get a book but low and behold, here it is. So far he has been bang on. Not sure how Daemons are gonna squeeze in now but I am sure they will be soon after if not in Feb sometime.

  8. THROGG! VILITCH! I'll be sad to see the current book go, it was nice to have a competitive army build for a little while. I think I was probably the only person who had Tzeentch marked Warriors with sword and board before 8th hit ;)

GW is trying to make me go broke this year...

  9. hahaha Yeah what happened to one author releasing 3 books in two months? (FB:Daemons 40k: daemons, 40k: DA from Vetock)....yeah that was a long stretch. All in good fun Naftka I think you do a good job here but some sources you use should be vetted a bit more since they are fairly unreliable. :)

Yet this is a good catch I was hoping to see some WOC

    1. Agree 100%. It doesn't look good to take such a scattershot approach to rumor mongering. Yesterday you were saying that Daemons were next month.

Either list sources or screen them better.

    2. Disagree with both of these points. I'm a newspaper journalist in my day job, and a regular reader of this site.

I appreciate what Natfka's doing here, in putting all the information out there, although I do disagree with what he says about this being based on journalistic principles. A journalist's job is to judge sources' accuracy, interpret information, and present only that which is the most reliable and factually true. A wrong story, based on anonymous information, is not only embarrassing, it's career-ending. This can lead sometimes to certain unsubstantiated information from not being released to the public.

Natfka doesn't do this. He's very much egalitarian and open in his presentation of the information. His mode of operating is very much like Wikileaks, which is there simply to release leaked information to the public without interpretation, or judging what is interesting and what isn't.

Now, I don't know what you would like, but for me, I'd rather have all the information that's available. I wouldn't want stuff like the Black Templars rumour to be withheld because it couldn't be verified by someone high level at GW, or three other sources of the same reliability. (I do know however that he tries to corroborate where he can, which is laudable).

I genuinely am delighted with this site and the way he works, and I think the detractors from that need to look at what they are expecting. The world according to the New York Times? Or a cache of leaked material that we can enjoy sorting through and discussing the veracity of on the forums.

    3. +2 extremely well put...keep up the good work Natfka!

  10. I can only see hobbot models, not 40k. plenty of 40k books tho. I like this release pattern actually. a big release with a small release alongside each month. also, I like the idea of releasing a small wave a few months before the Codex or army book so it will be almost up to date on point of release. they kind of did this with dv considering which armies were released next. if this flyer wave comes to pass I'd say it adds weight to tau and eldar this year.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I new it was to good to be true gw will release tau and eldar stuff slightly after hell freezes over, cant see deamons coming out in march either!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Tao and Eldar have been treated very kindly with 6th eddition rules, I can understand though where they would want some new codex love in order to field some more variety, "well Tao anyway".

      Delete
    2. You haven't seen the new Eldar FAQ then, have you?

      Delete
    3. oh you mean the 1 amendment? trolling?

      Delete
    4. To be fair, that one amendment effectively wrecks an Eldar army style that was highly popular in 5th edition, and also gives Eldar psykers a disadvantage that no other psykers in the game have for no apparent reason. It's just plain bizarre.

      Delete
  12. I.. Cannot understand.. How can they keep releasing new books at this rate? 1 month, 1 book.. Its insane..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because they have competition and need to stay the leader of the pack. 2012 they released very few codexes.

      Delete
    2. A lot more competition and remember GW statement about having the best models out there thus being the reason for the prices? Yeah, good luck trying to sell that these days GW.

They have too much quality competition now to be as complacent, greedy and lazy as they have been over the past years and seriously need to pull their finger out now if have any hope staying top of the wargaming food chain .

      Delete
  13. Word on the street for the last few years was that GW had a fairly large backlog of project they had finished and that they were looking at release windows for them. The last few years haven't seen alot of releases. I guess we're seeing things come to a head.

It happened with privateer press in 2010/2011. They were sitting on a lot of finished stuff and were releasiing nearly a book a month. Once their backlog was released they settled back into a much slower release scheduel.

  25. I'm excited about the models, not so excited about the author. I retired my WoC army about 18 months ago to concentrate on 40K for awhile, been waiting to see if a new book will get me back into WHFB. Seeing Cruddace name on it has me really wondering..so I'll wait to buy the models until I can get a grasp on where he went with this.
