Harlequin Images Leak to Show This Week's Releases

Just in case you were still hoping for a codex release, leaked images from the White Dwarf are saying its not happening this week. As it turns out, this week's releases are not a whole lot, but do include the new Harlequin Skyweaver Jetbike. They are some very cool 2 rider jetbikes that we have been seeing this week.

Here is the release for this week.
Harlequin Skyweaver $40
2 miniatures

Here is a link to check out the image. Thanks goes to aracersss for pointing us in the right direction.

  1. $40 for 2 jet bikes with 2 riders on each. Am I trippin' or is that cheap?

    1. If a Vyper sized model at 20 dollars is cheap then yes.

    2. And here i was thinking $120 for a full unit of 6, expensive!

    3. This is one of the few occasions that the limit on them in your army is the point cost not the price...;). 6 would cost 300pts base. 300pts for something a fire warrior/guardian/necron/long fang squad will wipe out in one round, to my mind is steeper than £72 you'd pay for them. You can get a Wraith Knight for that money, get to use it for a good chunk of the game all for much less points...;)

    4. If you work out what 3 cost. 60,-$
And you compare to SM bikes or ork bikes.
Also we dont know the volum of bitz jet. Some boxes in the past a a weapon of each. (killabotz)

    5. I tend to compare them to ravenwing bikes. The price is the same for 3. But these look to be a 1 sprue kit with less parts overall.

    6. I'm shocked to see seb jumping to conclusions to make out that GW are bad. Shocked.

    7. First off seb you should learn the difference between less and fewer. A sprue would have fewer parts unless they gave you half of jetbike. Second we haven't seen the sprue so there is no way to determine which has more or fewer parts.
Vonevilstein: I don't think these guys will shine in squads of six for the reason you've mentioned. However in squads of two or three they'll make a perfect relatively low cost flanking unit to harass and tie up units and then break with hit and run and repeat. Also learn the difference between fewer and less too.

    9. ^ actually it's irrelevant so why don't you delete that other comment as well.

      i'll explain myself:
      1. less and fewer is the same thing. if something has less than something else, then it by default has fewer bits and since it has fewer bits then by default it has less bits as well. but since we don't know the bit count, it is irrelevant.

      2. seb makes a good point: that is because even if you get more individual pieces you only still make 2 models. other bikes using Sens example RW bikes. you get "more" models v less bits. so in a way you both get more models but less bits overall to spice the model up.

      3. whereas these bikes (harlies) have more in the kit (makes sense due to weapon/wargear options) so in a way my guess that harlies have more bits is evidence in itself. (please use your thick ass brain. i know you can when it suits you). but that is a bits count to make less models so in a round about way Seb is in fact right.

    10. this is correct grammar usage: Fewer/Less.

Use fewer with objects that can be counted one-by-one.
      1. we can assume that harlies have more bits, we know how many bits a SM bike has. we can compare based on logical deduction.

Use less with qualities or quantities that cannot be individually counted.
      2. we can assume that Harlie bikes have more bits than a SM bike, but don't know the bit count in harlie bikes, what we can logically deduce model count wise.

    12. Samus, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this blog is now dumber for having read to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

    14. We know from the Box & rumors they are only 1 build with 2 weapon options.
So they are per bike the same price as the RW. The diffrence is RW build a Banner guy, apoc & a commander in addition to the normal RW knights. By the looks & rumors these wont have a alternate build.
So they are the most expensiv bike ever!
Just that people are fooled by changeing pack size.

    16. Most expensive bike ever? The Vyper Jetbike, which this new model is comparable in size to is $30 (50% more in price). The Vyper is super old and very dated.

Eldar Jetbikes cost $15 each and are less than half the cost point wise than the Harlequin's jetbike. Not to mention, that you have to spend $45 on Eldar Jetbikes to field a legal squad. Now, you can buy a 3 model box to save $5, but if you want all the options you have to drop $8.25 for a cannon upgrade.

Lets then look at Shining Spears. To make four you need 4 Jetbikes, $65, using the 3 man box+1 single. Then you need an upgrade pack, $16.50. That's $71.50 for Shining Spears. Four Shining Spears that are dated and cost the same amount of points as the two Harlequin bikes, but cost 43% more.

    17. At least compare to DE not Eldar bikes from the stoneage.

      These are not vyper size!
Have you ever seen a vyper?
      These are just jetbike size.
2 weapons doesnt make it 4 bikes.
A squad of 6 will run quit expensiv.
They are very much the most expensiv bike just like the RW knights and just like them they wont sell & become direct only.
People can just convert their stoneage bikes to these. :D

  2. Compare them to a single reaver titan from forgeworld. You get twice the amount of models for just a fraction of the cost!

  4. When I first saw the bikes I was disappointed as they did not have the big grinning face of the old ones. However, having seen the troupe painted up with the masquerade masks it all looks quite fitting now.

    1. It's growing on me too. I imagine the mask on the cowling is close to the rider so it can project a holographic heads-up targeting display from gems in the eye sockets.

  5. I don't understand why people thought there would be a codex this week :/
Considering the White Dwarfs has spoken of a transport for the Harlequins, why would they put out a codex now revealing this future transport release and whatever other Harlequin releases there could be.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yeah, the codex is often one of the last things to be released when GW can sell WDs due to them having the rules within, pre-codex.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I don't expect a codex for another week after this
Next week will probably be Skyweaver and Death Jester with the Shadow Seer and the Codex coming in the week after at least thats what makes sence t me but this is GW were talking about

    1. Don't forget the Great Harlequin. We should be getting an HQ option that isn't a Shadowseer.

  9. I'm really keen to see how the ally stuff works with them and other eldar

    1. As written in issue 53 of White Dwarf it says that the Troupe and Solitaire can be taken as allies. Rules as written in the issue this would mean you can take either the one or both as allies. Battle brothers for the Eldars and allies of convenience for the Imperium means i could take a single Solitaire as a mercenary assassin alongside my Space Marines :/ With no HQ the main rules force org for allies doesn't apply so i imagine they'll make this more clear in the codex should we get one. I'm highly doubtful they intended it this way but should the codex be as briefly written as the White Dwarf i'll welcome this xeno assassin into my force :D

      Delete
    2. That actually makes sense according to the background because Solitaires wander alone outside of any Harlequin Masque. They turn up for dances and fights with other Harlequins but beyond that they are wandering hermits much like the Phoenix Lords. If they want to fight with mon-keigh they are welcome to do so.

      Delete
    3. I plan on running mine next to an Adamantium Lance. Let the Harlequins take on the hordes and units that would truly harm my knights (like the new broken wraiths) and let the knights do their job.

      Delete
    4. I've been looking at building a list with harlequins and assassins. What with them being allies of convenience and all.

      Delete
    5. since everyone including nids can ally now i guess if someone uses one their opponent will counter by using theirs. suddenly it's solitairehammer.

      Delete
    6. That's kind of a slippery slope argument Samus. Just because the option is there doesn't mean everyone will buy/want/afford the model. I won't be playing it with my Chaos marines and my Dark Angels friend had no interest in them. Not saying that's a full sample of the player base but it's safe to say the Solitaire isn't going to upturn the global 40k meta game.

  11. I wonder if the mirage launchers will function like the "grenade" back pack that archons can take as far as filling the role for assault grenades.... I dont know if the new DE dex had that updated but from the previous version but I havent seen anyone mention that yet.

    1. Mirage Launchers could be Phantasm Grenade Launcher equivalent. And who knows what special rules the skyweaver jetbike itself comes with. Im still reserving judgement until I see the full rules from the dex.
