Skyweavers Rules and Weapons Leaked

The leaked images are out, only a few short hours before the White Dwarf is released, and you can see the final images along with a video review of this week's magazine. This gives the weapon descriptions which we have had up here on this site before when our original information hit. Definitely worth checking out.

Here is a link to the video and extra images over on Spikey Bits

  1. Blast it. I was excited about the brand new, never before seen Skyreavers but you really meant Skyweavers. :-<

  2. It looks like the "skyweaver jetbike" equipment doesn't provide anything that the profile doesn't already take into account - a 4+ armor save and the "eldar jetbike" unit type. Was hoping it also provided skilled rider, or augmented hammer of wrath, or something like that.

Oh well, I still think 2 of these stock will add some value to the DE/Eldar list. Yes, reavers and windriders are about the same cost for a unit of 5, but I think there's something to be said for a smaller footprint as a unit and the ability to pack the same 2 shuriken cannons that a 6-man windrider unit can bring to bare, as well as the one-off S6 AP2 blasts for some great anti-TEQ in a pinch.

Plus, I think these are going to be heavily converted by eldar players into windriders, so there's that too!

    1. That's correct. A Skyweaver Jetbike is no more or less than an Eldar Jetbike with a 4+ save and a shuriken cannon, as far as the rules go.

It is nice to have as many shuriken cannons as you want though. I just think Skyweavers will make Death Jesters kind of useless.

    3. Well, one difference is that they have 2 wounds and one turn 4++ to use the turn before assaulting something instead of jinking?

    4. Dunno though, 50pts\sc is steep. If Dj's come in at cheap price points wise, then mobility might not be an issue as you can buy enough to plug all the strategic holes you want.

  4. Completely off topic here sorry, but anyone know what has happened to the Dark Hunters novel? It was meant to be released today but it's all been removed from the black library website, short stories and author interview included.
