This is a 3 Portal list utilizing several tactics that I have talked about here in the past. I have to work very close to game time today, so it will be quite the pressure to even get there.

This list starts out with Vect, the Ancient, and one other riding along in a raider with one unit of Grotesques, for a very difficult unit to kill. They will be getting out round 1, dropping a webway, and moving forward. The second haemonculi can seperate from the group and deploy his webway round 2. This unit has 3 tokens to start, is meant to be unbreakable while portals are deployed, and can assault like a madman (vect)

The second grotesque unit is meant to fly and flank, let someone shoot me out and deploy its webway. Note that the charging Grotesques abberation will get 7 attacks on the charge at I5 with re-rolls to wound on a 3+ poison hit.

Raiders. Three of these are set to ram immediately round 1. If not ramming, there job is do get in front and pin down the enemy. The other two raiders will be firing and moving troops into position, while the venoms will be deployed empty so that their troops can arrive via webway.

Three 10 man warrior units will deploy, while the two 5 man go into reserve for portal use.
Scourges are set to deepstrike with the options of using portals when they arrive.
Talos simply come out where necessary and wreck enemy lines from portal of choice.

  1. I am actually very interested in his your list does and what your opponent is fielding. Looking forward to the battle report later.

  2. The 7-Attacks-Aberration is a nice Close Combat "monster" :)
But I wonder where you get the reroll to wound from? I looked up the USRs and the Codex now and can't find an explanation ...

I do like your "Grotesques+Haemonculus Webway delivery Close Combat unit" idea very much and how to be able to employ this unit soon!

  3. Scissorhands are a poisoned weapon 3+. So you always wound on a 3+ and get a re-roll if your Strength is equal to or higher than the victims toughness. page 42 of rulebook under poisoned weapons.

When you charge you will also have furious charge so your strength will be 6 on the charge. There are things you won't get the re-roll on, just not many.

  4. As a side note, Dark Eldar shooting weapons that are poisoned do not get this re-roll.
