There are new FAQs for virtually every 8th edition 40k now up, including the Dark Imperium. Fantastic to see them doing this right away.

Since the new edition was released, thousands of you have been playing your own games of Warhammer 40,000. We’ve had loads of feedback on our Facebook page and we want to make sure your games are running as smoothly as possible – less time worrying about rules is more time gaming, after all!

To help you with this, we’ve assembled our first FAQ, working with our game designers and playtesters to answer as many of your questions as possible. We’ve covered a range of queries, from the regular housekeeping (What is 1″, exactly?) to the incredibly specific (Can a Necron Warrior reanimate if it’s already enjoying a new un-life as a Poxwalker?) – you can download it here:

We’ve also got a guide for veteran players with Stepping into a new edition of Warhammer 40,000. Several core mechanics of the game work differently from how they did in the last edition, and if you’re a seasoned player of Warhammer 40,000, it can be hard to shake off some old habits from how you’ve always played before. Stepping into a new edition is designed to deal with these preconceptions, from measuring vertical distance to when you can and can’t attack characters. This is well worth a look if you’re in need of a hand in transitioning from the previous edition to the new Warhammer 40,000.

There’s also an updated version of our Developers Commentary; this isn’t an FAQ but a brief and thorough guide to some of the key concepts of the new edition. These include how rerolls and modifiers are handled and how the Keyword system is intended to work (for example, even if you named your Tyranid Hive Fleet “Ultramarines” the only stirring emotions they’d experience in the presence of Marneus Calgar would be hunger).

Finally, we’ve got an FAQ for Dark Imperium, to make sure that our best boxed set ever lives up to its reputation.

If you’ve got any more questions, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page and we’ll submit them to the Rules team for review for the next round of FAQs – in the meantime, enjoy your games!

Imperial Armour Indexes are getting an FAQ of their own – and we’re hoping to have that ready for next weekend.
