Privateer Press Competitive Box Sets Coming in February
Hello everyone, I'm Justin and I'm starting today as the Warmachine/Hordes correspondent for Faeit 212! Natfka pretty much has all your GW news well in hand, so I'll be helping out with content on the other games that he doesn't have the time to keep up with.
Now that that's out of the way, let's get down to business.
Back in November, Privateer Press announced a series of upcoming all-in-one faction box sets slated to be released in February. These sets include a full 35 point army list with options chosen from among the most popular competitive tournament lists. Each box will include over $200 worth of minis but retail for only $134.99, proving at least 30% savings at msrp. It should be noted that these boxes are a separate deal from PP's current holiday bundle offers, which include alternate faction battle box sets for $50.
Currently, only the Khador and Skorne boxes have been fully revealed to us, and while many are pointing out that the lists aren't perfect by any means, they do provide new players or experienced players looking to start a new faction with a much stronger jumping off point into the faction than the old battle boxes.
The Khador Box includes the following models, a $200 value:
• Forward Kommander Sorscha Kratikoff
• Spriggan
• Demolisher
• War Dog
• Widowmakers
• Winter Guard Infantry & Rocketeers
• Winter Guard Officer & Standard
• Kovnik Jozef Grigorovich
• Lady Aiyana & Master Holt
While the Skorne box clocks in at a whopping $225 worth of minis, making it a superior deal!
• Supreme Archdomina Makeda
• Molik Karn
• Titan Gladiator
• Praetorian Swordsmen
• Cataphract Incindiarii
• Paingiver Beast Handlers
• Aptimus Marketh
No word yet on whether the models included will be a mix of the standard metal and plastic models or if they've been reworked into an all plastic set (a prospect that might not be as terrible as it sounds given PP's new hard plastic formula that we saw on the new Gatormen Posse resculpts), though given the variety of minis I expect the former to be more likely.
I'll return soon with a breakdown of what's in these boxes as well as news on the other faction boxes as new details are released.
Until next time.
