Blood Angel Battleforce Still Contains the Old Tacticals in it.

Just something to be aware of if you are looking at battle force box sets for the new Blood Angels. The box contains the old tactical squads, and if you are looking for a combination kit with the new models in it, there are a couple bundles to check out before purchasing one.

Here is a link looking at the current sets.

Here is a recent letter from Customer Service explaining it.

Hello
Thank you for writing into us. We are not aware of the Blood Angels
Battleforce getting repacked with the new Tactical Squad. This set right
now will still have the old Tactical squad in it.

Sorry we can't be of more help.

  1. They really haven't changed models out of a battle box till they discontinue that battle box and start another.

Is this another thing about the new base size?

    1. More that these tacticals are so out dated. Even regular Space marines have a newer updated Tactical Squad and now with Blood Anges having their own these older designs don't have any place anymore. Sure they can easily be integrated but why when GW have a replacement product already available except in one old box.

    2. The old Battleforce boxed set for Blood Angels is no longer available in the EU, so I think that GW US is just clearing it's old stock. Can't repackage those old tac Marines anymore. So when this stock is gone, it's gone.

  2. I think we'll probably see something relatively soon that's similar to the new Space Wolf battleforce

  3. Did people expect the old Battleforce to get the new tacticals or something?

    1. It's the internet, of course someone thought so :P

    2. Since the company has dedicated resources to improve the product, the logical thing to do would be to upgrade the battleforces on the new production runs.

    3. I was expecting them to release a new, more expensive set. Kind of like the Cadian Defense Force (Which is pretty much the original Cadian Battleforce, except they removed the Sentinel and replaced it with a Chimera and a Leman Russ).

    4. @Albert there will be no new production runs of the BF. Hence updating it would mean destroying the old boxes and reboxing with new product. Which is about to be discontinued. Or they coukd just discontinue the old BF and replace it like they are doing...

  4. They have discontinued all the old battle forces on codex release here in the uk. Even the new large battleforce boxes have sold out.

  5. fair enough the old battleforce not being updated. but i would have thought that the deathstorm would have had the new terminators in it. also the reboxed Sanguinary Guard do have the new bases with it

    1. I thought the same thing, but after discussing it with a local GW manager I had a bit of a "Doh!" Moment. The new Blood Angel kit is Assault Terminators, while Deathstorm are the ranged kit. So it kinda makes sense to use "Old" ones.
