Warlord Games has updated us with what is being worked on in their studio (btw a great cool thing to see what is coming out in the future). Also up is the last week for Bolt Action system starter deals... Great way to get into the game. For Beyond the Gates of Antares, we have the Algoryn Scout Probe Shard box set.

Out today, to expand your Antares armies, Algoryn and Boromite scout probe shards!
A Scout Probe is the name given to a Spotter Drone when it operates as part of a probe shard rather than as a buddy drone…

When operating as a Buddy Drone, Spotter Drones are assigned to a specific unit – and will tend to stay in close proximity to their unit in order to act as a second pair of eyes –  relaying information from their sensor arrays back to the unit. This allows the unit to remain in cover while the Spotter Drone peeks out to spot targets and assess the battlefield around them.

When operating as part of a Probe Shard, they are more freely able to wander the battlefield – spotting enemy units from afar and relaying their nature and location direct to the combat shard – sharing the data with the other drones and units which they fight alongside. This allows overhead firing weapons to patch-into the datastream and ascertain targeting information without revealing their own position – so that they can fire accurately from behind cover before the enemy are able to react.

Studio Update!!
Steve has now finished the US Airborne 3-ups and they’ve gone off to be tooled. As a special reward he’s been allowed to work on the Freeborn Skarks and my word do they look good so far!

Wojtek has finished the new troop type/race for the Isorians. Now he’s working on Napoleonic metal models and designing a new Isorian character…

Russ is working on new characters and new troops types for the Xilos supplement. Then it’s back to more Doctor Who…

Kirsten has finished painting Boromite Guildess Arran Gestalin and the Freeborn Striker attack skimmer, as well as Freeborn Hound Probe Shard. She is now painting some rather fun new additions from the Xilos supplement. Work has also been started on Fartok in his battle armour. Next up is Donna Noble from our forthcoming Doctor Who range…

Andres is multi-tasking. Having finished painting the Ghar Attack Scutters and Boromite he’s working on several new things at the same time – Karg 12-40-9, Bolt Action Germans in winter kit and two new support/heavy weapons for the Algoryn.

Darek has finished building and painting a VERY large plastic model. It’s not for Antares though! We aim to release it at Salute on the 16th…

Mark is working on packaging and construction leaflets for upcoming Antares and Bolt Action boxed sets.

Anna continues to work on the new Antares supplement. The cover is looking rather swish now! Also on her to-do list are photoshopping many new photographs for forthcoming Bolt Action books. More on that soon…
