Warlord Games has no issues letting us know what their designers are up to, and today we have a look at the next two months of releases. This is exciting because the new Battle for Xilos supplement is coming, and with it a lot of characters and new units.

TIME FOR ANOTHER GLIMPSE INTO THE WARLORD DESIGN STUDIO TO SEE WHAT EVERYONE’S WORKING ON, AND PERHAPS A HINT AT WHAT’S TO COME…
Wojtek has completed the sculpting on an Isorian character known only as Xan Tu. He’s also completed a squad of Soviet veterans in snow suits for our forthcoming Winter Soviets range. In addition he’s working on Highlanders for the Crimean War…
Steve has now slunk off on a weeks dereliction of duty (sorry – holiday) but before he left finished the first five Australian Independent Commandos (as seen here) as well as working on new crew for our Persian King’s Chariot.
Darek has been painting the many variants of our soon to be released plastic Churchill tank (as previewed here). He’s also been making new weapons for the British Home Guard
Kirsten has finished painting the Boromite Heavy Mag Cannon and has now started work on the colossal Matronite Brood Mother. That might take some time!
OH, AND SPEAKING OF ‘WHAT’S TO COME’…
Following some of the work-in-progress sculpts and models shown at Salute earlier this year – we’ve heard a lot of eager speculation and murmurings throughout the community with regards to what might be being released over the coming days, weeks, months – and even years!
Well – when it comes to Beyond the Gates of Antares in particular, we thought we’d give a glimpse at a portion of our release schedule…

Special Rules
Command, Follow, Leader 3. Are all standard special rules that are described in the main body of the rules. See Special Rules for Units in the Antares rulebook on page 133.
Wound 3 (excerpt).…If Commander Josen fails a Resist test then instead of falling casualty he is wounded instead. Josen can be wounded up to 3 times in this way. Once he has suffered 3 wounds if he fails any further Resist test he is removed as a casualty like any other individual. If Josen is wounded then the unit cannot lose pins it has equal to the number of wounds – See page 119 for further explanation
Steady There, Soldier Any unit that fails a test against Command, for example units failing an Order test or a Break test, can reroll the dice if Josen is within 10”.
Very Well Prepared (excerpt) …This special rule affects the ‘Well Prepared’ Army Option. If the force includes Commander Josen and the player also includes one or more Well Prepared Army Options, then for every Well Prepared the player pays for he gets one further Well Prepared for free. – See page 119 for further explanation.
