There were once twenty Legiones Astartes. Two are lost to history, expunged from the Imperial records, and eighteen remained as The Horus Heresy began. So far Forge World has created unique upgrades of heads, torsos and shoulder pads for sixteen of the Legions, leaving only the Thousand Sons and Space Wolves to go.

This week I caught sight of more upgrades coming soon from the Forge World Studio, and they look fantastic. The warriors of Fenris might have to wait a little longer, but the sons of Magnus the Red are on their way!

    1. If they do Russ well...
      Oh yes please!
I really wan't to see Sanguinius.
The Wolf and the Angel are my favorite Primarchs,
      ;)

    3. I agree totally here. Russ is my favorite primarch, Magnus and Curze being a close second. Sanguinius will be epic for sure.

    1. Keep in mind, these are simply the Mk IV upgrade packs that they recently released for all 16 of the other legions, meant to pair up with the Betrayal of Calth boxed set from GW.

Once Prospero HH7 is released, sometime this next summer/fall 2016, we will actually see rules for specific Space Wolf and Thousand Sons legion armies and special characters, and models for legion-specific units, characters, and primarchs.

But this is just the splash release to allow for conversion of the new plastic 30k kits.

    2. Can't remember specifics but is Book 6 (coming around February) not meant to contain Legion rules for all the Legions and more rites of war?

    3. That's why he said HH book 7, but I'm stoked for the thousand sons specific stuff

    4. Most of the HH upgrade packs are quite ugly. These look ok but not incredible.

    5. @starchild not sure I would agree with that, emperors children upgrade kits don't look great but I can't think of others that are bad

    6. Word Bearers ones are excellent imo. Plain Mk.IV but covered in arcane Colchisian runes.

    7. Honestly, the only ones I think look outright *bad* are the IF and EC ones. The other ones I think fit right into how their respective legion should look.

My favourites are the Alpha Legion and (I never thought I'd say this) Ultramarine ones.

    8. The IW ones make 0 sense. "Here have a star".

    9. yep, iron warriors are easily the worst of them... a freaking star really?

    10. Not sure why anyone likes the downgrade kits. But some people like the Obliterator models, so I guess there's a market for them. Knock yourselves out.

    11. Some of those upgrade sets are incredible... But yeah, IW's took a bullet in my eyes.

  6. JUST.

    AS.

    PLANNED.

This is good to see. I know these guys and the Wolves won't be getting unique rules and units for a while, but at least they have upgrade packs so people can build up their basic troops now. Upgrades look great too!

  7. YESS!
Finally I'll be able to play with the thing that brought me to 40k.
Too bad I'm quite penniless for now :(

  9. With the 40k models in mind this looks very reserved for 30k Thousand Sons. I can't wait to see what they do for the characters.

    1. I'm wondering if the Magnus model will look like a one-eyed Pharoah. Definitely some weirdness in store for us.

  10. im wondering about this model, I dont think you get a plastic plasma pistol in the B@C box, makes me wonder if they are working off of a different release.
