A book is being put up for pre-orders this weekend, called The Battletome: Chaos Dreadhold. If you missed what is coming this weekend... here is the link.... http://natfka.blogspot.com/2015/08/this-weeks-pre-orders-arebloodwarriors.html.
The question then is.... what is the Battletome?, and why are getting so many book releases for a game system that doesn't need them? Well here are a few answers to these questions.

The Battletome: Chaos Dreadhold - This book is 90 pages and holds the background on the new terrain coming out next week. (Skull Keep, Malefic Gate, Overlord Bastion) As well as stories for background on AoS regarding the encroachment of Chaos. Several pages are dedicated to artwork of the stunning terrain. This book will also include Battalion Warscrolls for use in AoS.
We are 4 weeks into AoS and have to get stuff out for that. We will get back to 40k, I just don't know when.
Why 3 weeks in a row we have had book releases when this new system doesn't have rule books?
The books are not needed. They just add Battalion Warscrolls that cannot be gotten anywhere else. All Terrain in the books have their rules inside the terrain boxes.
