  2. Must say, I'm rather excited.

Can't wait to use a ridiculous number of khornate models in some viable fashion.

    1. Agreed. Will bring an interesting element to the game and a nice looking Bloodthrister model to face in battle. Im looking forward to the challenge.

  4. New cases! At last, I might be able to get one which fits in any of my rucksacks! :)

  5. I hope these cases have more appropriate slots. Nothing really fits in the current infantry slots, and with the new 32mm bases cropping up it's even harder.

I also wish GW would sell case trays seperate too, so that people could buy more trays without having to have cases they don't need. Or have different layouts in the trays alla the apocalypse case GW made some time back.

    1. Battlefoam,KR multicase dude....

    2. They used to make trays, back when all cases had 9 by 4 foam, holding 36 figures. Made great alternate tank foam in that you could buy the extra foam and cut it out without too much worry about having to buy another entire case.

Unsure if they sold foam that is the current 10 by 4 set up... As a guard player, the older format appealed to me more seeing how a platoon is set up. Not seeing foam being sold on the website currently either

  7. I've been waiting for this since RoC:Slaves to Darkness. I just hope they've upped the anti-armour capability as it's the one serious weakness for mono-Khorne armies (at least for CD's at any rate).

Going by the previous rumours and the images, Termies and Maulerfiends are in it and they will certainly help. Although my Maulerfiend has usually been nothing more than a mobile crater.....;). Still, I love the model.

I won't be disappointed whatever it brings though, I'll make do with whatever options we get. And there will be blood...;)

    1. Oh and please, please, please throw Bloodcrushers a bone (OK skull) and give them some sort of survivability option. Awesome models that are pretty good in CC if only they could make to combat......

    2. Yeah, I don't get why they reduced their armour save from 3+ to 6+ when they did the Daemon book.
      Absolutely ludicrous decision

      Delete
    3. Yup, and T5 down to T4 making them prime S8 fodder. Laughable compared to Wraiths really. Still we can hope...;)

    4. Damn my nurgle painted Maulerfiend. I'll need get 2 more it seems...

    5. At my LGS a guy used these against my Tau with great ability actually. He usually ran 2 large squads of them along side bloodletters, thirsters and skull taker. Sometimes a soul grinder of nurgle. Generally he used target priority to get atleast two units into charge range, then it became a shit storm EVERYTIME. Guy plays Khorne demons like they're the best demons going.

    6. Yeah threat saturation is the way to play mono-Khorne - it will cause havoc with fragile armies. I've had some success with it myself, but this all goes south if you come up against proper armour (AV13+ all round or rear). Anything that can deal with that (SG in CC, Bloodthirster) will be prioritised as a threat, after which the armour is free to hose down easy targets like Bloodcrushers. Not all armour is deadly mind, some are just an annoyance, but you're in trouble with things that kick out half decent firepower, like Ghost Arc's, Vaults, Stompa's etc etc.

    7. One unit with Karanak seems fine, couldn't pay me to run 2 units though.

    8. @Vonevilstein, Maulers are amazing, but Mauler (singular) is just too easy to kill. They work great in armies that are designed to pour threats down the enemy throat. In my list I run 3 of them, plus bikes, 2 units of spawn and the Mayhem pack so the enemy is just choking on units and they work great (though after this book I will probably lose the spawn and mayhem pack for a couple units of flesh hounds). Frequently 1-2 will die before making it in, but it's absorbing firepower that would otherwise be killing spawn and bikes.

  8. they should give them their 3+ back. And judging by the trend in fast melee, we should see some nice buffs for the bloodcrushers.

    1. Eh they tend to try to keep things the same between fantasy and 40k, so my hope is for a 4+ Armour save like they have in fantasy. I wouldn't give my hopes up for a 3+.

      Delete
    2. 4+ would at least actually give them an armour save that is useable, A 6+ armour when you have a 5+ invulnerable is just pointless

  9. Does anyone else notice on the white dwarfs cover it looks like the terminator in the middle of the Termie group is holding 2 power axes? Or is my eye sight deceiving me, it's not what it used to be.

    1. According to the shot of WD it's 28/03/15. Absolutely gutted, I've been waiting for this for 20 years and it's released the only week I'll be out of the country for the year! I have to wait a whole week before getting my hands on it! OK in comparison to 20 years a week is doable...;).

    2. Bad luck dude.

Similar thing happened to me with the Blood Angels release.

I'm sure you'll get it sorted.

    3. being the ultimate khorne book you'd think itd be released on 08/08

    4. @Aria, that would be awful, not sure how I'd explain to my fiancé that on our wedding night I'll be reading a Warhammer book. Because that would seriously occur.

    1. Now let's see the leaked picture that describes this alleged Strength D Bloodthirster. I ain't a-believin' that one 'til I sees it!

      Delete
    2. its likely a piece of wagear for the Bloodthirster - a demonic reward or relic.

      Delete
    3. That would suffice, but it could also be a Bloodthirster only available by summoning via the Blood for the Blood Cards. I just have a hard time believing they would give us anything that powerful.

Sure, the Lord of Skulls (Lord of LULZ, amirite?!) has SD attacks, but that's a horse of a different color.

    4. Maybe the Strength D will only happen when Smash Attacking...

  13. Am i the only one whos noticed that they will have a Skirmish case on sale, when gw dont currently make a skirmish game?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Kill team... Not really a skirmish game, but small-scale. I think it was more of a way to market a product that they were already making. The crusade case has what, four of the trays, the battle case has two, and the skirmish has one? What else should they have called it?

I think it was a good call, skirmish game or not. You guys have to cut them some slack once in a while. Maybe not too much, but this is kinda petty.
