This week we saw the release of the Tyranid codex, and it of course it was met with large amounts of angst. While I feel that this is overblown, there is quite a bit of other news happening in our hobby this week. From a new magazine called Warhammer Visions, to White Dwarf moving to a weekly publication, and Games Workshop going to a full on weekly release schedule instead of the monthly routine that we have had for years. So there is a lot of news, so sit back and see what you may have missed this week.

Faeit's Tarot is a look at the headlines and rumors of the week, so that we can look ahead and see just what may be coming in the future for our hobby.

Change is Happening

There are a lot of changes that are coming this year, and already they have started off with a bang. From the Warriors Way (GW's official event rules) allowing Forgeworld models, to the abrupt changes to the White Dwarf. This is definitely going to be a definitive year in our hobby.

The Monthly White Dwarf Magazine is History ****
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-monthly-white-dwarf-magazine-is-dead.html
There will be an announcement this Saturday. The monthly White Dwarf magazine is history. There will be a small weekly white dwarf magazine and a new monthly magazine, called "warhammer: visions", 230 pages strong(!!!). This will start in February.
Also there is a meeting in February for every European "black shirt" in England. Maybe for the new GW website, including FW. :)

As a heads up, you're going to be getting emails about "weekly white dwarf mini magazines."
It's called White Dwarf Visions and it's true.
They will focus on talking about the hobby and community more so than being a sales magazine.

The Details about White Dwarf Visions****
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-details-about-white-dwarf-visions.html
White Dwarf Visions (New White Dwarf), is coming soon, February 1st, and there will be new issues every Saturday.
The prices are as follows, and will only be sold at GW Stores and Independents.... no newstands.
- £2.40, €3.20, US$4, CA$5, Aus$6, NZ$7, 25rmb, 12zl, 500¥, 30dkr, 35skr, 35nkr
Whats being revealed is that the magazine will be 32 pages of whats new and exciting in the hobby this week, new reelases and other news. There will also be new features that will include hobby oriented material, like techniques for painting and modeling, and new rules, and new authors.

Getting Ready for Forgeworld Products in Stores****
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/01/getting-ready-for-forgeworld-products.html
The European representatives of GW send in March for the first time their "black shirts" for further education to England. Previously, it was always carried out in the HQs of their countries.
The staff should be prepared for FW. There are probably plans for store events with Horus Heresy and FW 1-click Packages.
FW products should, if they are coming soon, not to rise in price!

Forgeworld and Finecast Changes are Underway****
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/01/forgeworld-and-finecast-changes-are.html
Those who are responsible for the Production of Finecast have been relocated Today (7.1.14).
Free capacity will then probably used for FW.
GW "Blackshirts" will in March informed that FW can be ordered in all Stores.
Games Workshop Releases Moving To Weekly Instead of per Month****
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/01/games-workshop-releases-moving-to.html
changes at GW - The monthly releases are quartered ;
-One Week Black Library
-One Week Forgeworld
-One Week GW Releases like Models & Codices/Armybooks
-The 4th Week will be like the 3rd Week but other Army/System
The weeks can be every month in a different sequence. Some armies can get two weeks.

The owner of my FLGS also said the weekly magazine coincides with a change for GW making new releases weekly instead of monthly. Furthermore, he said he will be able to sell/take orders for new releases Friday evenings at 5:00pm CT instead of waiting until Saturday.

Future Codex Releases Will Do This****

Imperial Guard Rumors

Earlier in the week there were rumors that the Leman Russ may be not getting an update to fix the rules of it not being able to fire ordinance alongside its other weapons. The rumors are solid that this is the final result of the playtesting phases and hence the concern over whether or not the Leman Russ will be viable in the upcoming Imperial Guard release.

Leman or Lemon Russ? Will the New Codex Kill these Iconic Tanks? ****
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/01/leman-or-lemon-russ-will-new-codex-kill.html
Maybe next edition it'll be good again, but it looks like no changes to the Lemon Russ this time around.
Still front armor 14, still rear 10 or 11, and still 3 hull points as a heavy vehicle.
The only change we might be seeing is new rules on how they squadron, forcing them to deploy within 6" (or enter from reserve together) but otherwise operate independently from then on.
This set I believe was not from a final playtest set, but shows that there were indeed some variant rules of the playtesting where the current 6th edition problems of the Leman Russ were tested. What ends up in the final release, is still to be seen when we get a print copy of the release.

7th Edition "Ignore Cover" and More on the Leman Russ ****
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/01/7th-edition-ignore-cover-and-more-on.html
Regarding the Leman Russ:
Vehicles & Ordnance Weapons: Unlike other units, vehicles can move and fire with Ordnance weapons, but can only make Snap Shots with its other weapons that turn.
A vehicle that remained Stationary can fire all of its weapons, including Ordnance weapons.
An interesting note:
Ignore cover USR: the target receives -2 on it's cover save. Template weapons ignore all cover saves.
Vehicles ignore the "Gets hot" USR.

Dwarves

Dwarves Release Information***
I can confirm that Dwarves are indeed due within the next few weeks.
Models Rumours:
Core Troopers won't get a new box.
Light Armor Infantry Box is Slayers and a second build I couldn't
recognize. They look indeed weird, however the Slayers are more dynamic
than I'd expected them to be.
Heavy Armor Infantry Box is Hammerers/Ironbreakers dual build. They look
just so much better than their older versions, quite some variation
considering their former lack of such.
The "War Altar" is a dual build of Throne and Anvil I believe. It wasn't
quite clear, but it seems to be possible to give a "regular" Dwarf King a
toned done version of the Throne.
The plastic clampack character looks amazing. Simply. Amazing.
The Gyrocopter is quite a lot better than the previous one, but not quite
as good as it could have been. But it is a lot bigger, the dwarf isn't
really that much sticking out It blends in nicely with the rest of the army.
The Tunneling Vehicle looks pretty awkward considering the awesomeness of
the rest of this release. I think the rumoured "big cannon" could be a dual
build with this one, it looks pretty much twice as good as the Tunneling
Machine, especially considering how much potential there was.
Rules Rumours:
Pretty few that I know about, but here it is:
Playing Style: The playing style will be quite similar to the previous one,
but with a wider variation of possibilities. Ironbreakers will be even
harder to crack open while Hammerers are No-brainers (Dwarves are slow,
but those can hit like a meteorite if they get you!).
Cannons are a bit toned down but are still as accurate as always. I think
there's a decent chance of not having a single misfired shot within
multiple games.

No Rumors or News Beyond this Point
I am rating what I personally think of the rumors (not the source). This is based off of behind the scenes knowledge, what different sources are saying, and general logic and guesswork. It goes like this

5 Stars. If its got a 5 star rating, Although still rumor, its only so because nothing has been officially announced (These are on the level that the Rumor Information is just undeniable or confirmed )

4 Stars is a very reliable rumor, and comes from someone I generally know to be in a good place, or the rumors match up well. These are not facts!, These are still rumors, and even great sources can have some information wrong on occasion. (think hastings-like, or close to that)

3 Stars, is a decent rumor. Should be looked at with some truth in it. An average rumor (most will fall here). Rumor based off of real information, discussion, or we do not know where it falls. (Like I said, most will fall here, and this is the baseline.)

2 stars. Most likely speculation, but sound OK. Every once in a while these have something (think Natfka doesn't really think this is happening, but ya never know)

1 Star. Way out in left field, and I feel that these are probably just wild speculation or made up. (think whoa, where the hell did this come from, and generally posted up because its fun, or Natfka was bored)
