Ultramarines reviews are now abound over the internet. They are pleasantly good so far. I look forward to seeing the movie, but am unfortunate that I dont have access to the movie previews. It looks like a good movie, and to be honest, anything that brings the 40k universe to life would be worth watching at least once. I am posting both trailers here as well as an early review I found just after the videos. Take a look, and dont forget to order. You can do so here.

This Review is by Latro, posting over at Warseer. Thanks for the review and info.
Just got back from London after the invite to see the new ultras film please move the thread if inappropriate place.

Got there to a queue of about 30-40 of us and we were lead inside by one of the producers David to the lobby. We then went to another part of the building with free badges, mmm badges and then into a mini cinema room they have there, then after that we were lead back for free beer and wine! win.

Credit to them they made us feel very welcome and free film and free beer and free badges! cant argue with that.

I don't want to give anything away and thinking about writing this I've realised 'anything' specific I mention could be regarded as a spoiler for some so I'll just give a bit of my perception of it after I've had a few hours for it to sink in.

First off it is very much graphically like the trailers as you'd expect. There are plenty of things in there you'll go 'ahh cool' at so don't worry. I know there has been loads of stuff online about the look of it, but they had to fund this their selves and as an independent film company from the UK fair play to them.

After you sit there for a few minutes the film really does hook you in. They really have cracked the 'feelin' of the 40k universe and more specifically the space marines. They all have their own characters which stand out but at the same time have a uniform cold warrior monk attitude, very impressed with the voice acting and the general feel of the marines.

There is one marine in particular who stands out and by the end of the film even if you hate ultramarines you'll wanna convert a model of him hes that cool.

The story is similarity awesome as you'd expect from the 40k god that is Mr Abnett. It feels a little short but i think that's because we're or i am used to long GW novels. In fact it feels very much like a BL short story only on the screen if that makes sense.

There is obviously a twist or twists in there which i am pleasantly pleased i didn't see coming at-all and was most awesome.

There for me were some issues with the way the animation or more so how they represented certain things but thats not really the main driving force of the film, as david said they wanted to tell a good story and they'v very much succeeded. So any niggles like that meh.

I'm left with the urge to watch it again which is only a good thing. I think its defo worth getting guys. They are already in talks with GW

+got a chance to flick through the animated comic you get with the box set, that alone is great very well drawn
