2nd Week in March Releases: Details Figured Out

OK, with the last list I have more confirmations that this is happening, and exactly what is a repackage and what is not. The red items are repackaged items with the new boxes, while the Helbrute and CSM Attack Force are new items. Codex Crimson Slaughter is a splash release, but is coming in a full hardback and of course there is a limited edition version. It appears the old CSM Battleforce is being replaced by this new CSM Attack Force.

  1. Price hikes are a bit upsetting, no matter how small. Hope that box art is worth those extra dollars

    1. I imagine the prices are going to be brought in line with the loyalist box sets, which means more bits. Oh so many more bits XD

    2. If its a re-packaging there wont be any new bits... just the box.

    3. With the ease of finding extra bits on the after market, I don't have a problem with the price point of the loyalist boxes. I can easily stretch another 10 marines out of the boxes for about an additional 10, maybe fifteen bucks. Of course that's because there's a local store here with a bits market that's pretty cheap, but there you go.

    4. But, aren't coming with extra bits... just new pictures on the front of the boxes....

    5. At least it just hits heretics! :)

      Jokeing aside.
      CSM kinda get pointless releases.
Did they vote wich csm Army is least populare and thus needs a supplement most???
I dont get the choices GW makes.

I wonder if Loyalist will get Termis, dread & bike repacks soon?

    6. What price hikes? Bikes are the same, Terminator Lord is the same, Rhino is the same... Don't just knee-jerk and say "Price Hikes!" When you see repackaging...

    7. OK, I see it now. FF went up $2.00, Rhino went up $1.75. Horrors... And to day I received an email from my company telling me that the company that does our food service in the cafeterias in the USA is also raising it's prices. It's called inflation, folks, and a $1.75 increase to $39.00 for a Rhino is not what I'd call a "price hike". When the Land Raiders jumped up to $75, now THAT was a price hikes. These just look like adjustments for inflation, and the very real fact that the GB £ sterling has been steadily climbing vs the US$...

    8. Lol
So they are not hikeing in the UK according to you? :D

Funny Inflation is never good for us players. Do you unterstand the new boxing is cheaper from a production in Design and printing?
Before it was 2 prints and more paper/card and the background was not the same default pattern every Time.
So once again they inflat and we get to Pay more to make up for the money they save. Like with finecast or plastic Charakters.

  2. Is the fact that a separate Raptor box is on there confusing to anyone else?

    1. Only if there was a separate warp talon entry.

  3. I did not expect Crimson Slaughter to have a hard back

  4. The upsetting thing here is that it strongly suggests that the kits getting new boxes are not going to get new models anytime soon. After all, who would go to the trouble of making new box art with the old models on the front only to make a new box within a year+? The worst ofc is the csm squad, who I had hoped would get the same update as the tactical marines got in October.
If you reverse this idea, however, it does support the havoc/chosen soon theory. Cult marines could also use an update....

    1. That is the hope here. But then again, I can't see any reason for the Forgefiend/Maulerfiend being re-released in this manner asides some new box art, considering the model is only a couple of years old.

      Delete
    2. They probably want to move every kit to the new box art style so why not transfer it along with the NEW chaos stuff. Makes sense to me anyway.

    3. Also seems like they're taking the opportunity to sneak a small price increase in as well. Though it's not huge that still kind of sucks.

    4. What price hikes, Chris? What's gone up? Maybe the Forgefiend, but that's about it, other than rounding. If that's a price hike, then I'll have words with a Shell Oil!

      :-)

    5. They repacked bikes not a year ago. The Problem was it actually saved you money -.-

I think we are just seeing the new way of pricehikes. Change Box Art! Thats it.

      Delete
    6. Bikes remain the same price. Raptors went up $2 from $33 to $35. *Yawn*. Please see above. This is adjusting prices for inflation and currency exchange between the US$ and the GB£.

    7. The only things staying the same are the bikes, which are still a good deal, and the terminators, everything else is getting a buck or two bump. Like I said though, it's small, not a huge deal or anything. Not raging or anything.

      Delete
    8. I'm also gutted about the repackaged CSM squad, meaning there is unlikely to be a new one. Would have brought at least 4 boxes...sigh

      Delete
    9. Can't help put think of the saying 'You can't polish a turd' when I see those repackaged terminators... Seriously they look like kinder eggs by today's standards and GW think a new box is good enough.. and then a price raise on top? lol

      Delete
    10. Terminators are staying the same price

  5. You know the belief that an updated version is far off is what I thought when I purchased the Hive Tyrant when it switched to Fine Cast (for ease of sawing through the torso, green-stuffing and converting into a more dynamic "Flyrant")...

...and then, what, six months later tops, GW came out with the updated plastic Hive Tyrant with wings, curvy tail and a much more dynamic flight pose. D'OH!!!

I don't think updated packaging is an indication of a set-in-stone permanent format any longer.

    1. Ooops. Meant to be a reply to the thread above.

Anyhoo, is there the possibility that those new packages COULD BE new boxes with hybrid resin components included?

If there where chapter specific vehicle glacis/ shoulder pads in there it could explain the new boxes

  6. Damn the new hellbrute is 54 bucks I hope they don't raise the price of the regular dreadnought to that price...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Seriously, 54 bucks is waaaaaay too much for the Helbrute. Maybe there's going to be a lot of extra bits in there, but either way they are not going to sell a whole lot at that price point unless the new codex makes them super awesome.

      Delete
    2. Well from the leaked photos there are a TON of bits in there. I think it will be rather easy to swap some of them with the DV one with minimal effort.

      Delete
    3. Yeah, given how garbage the helbrute's rules are, that price is just ridiculous. If people did want to field them, there's always the loyalist dread, or even the FW legion dreads, which are cheaper? yech.

      Delete
    4. The codex is actually rumoured to give the helbrute new/more rules so how bad they are right now could change pretty soon. The high price I think supports that they could be the new go to model for csm and also a way to push more DV boxes.

      Delete
  7. So the helbrute is four bucks, you say? lol I think that was supposed to be 40 but someone mistyped it on the sheet. Unless GW REALLY wants to push helbrutes XD

    ReplyDelete
  8. A clever way to way for GW to raise prices one line at a time. Way not to upset the entire comunity, just one faction at a time.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Its not like people are not going to notice these days. GW do it because they can and all the whining in world about the prices is like pissing in wind at end of day because enough people will still pay it for them to be able to justify it. Its best just not to think about it these days else risk a brain embolism.

  9. I don't understand why chaos bikers are on that revox lost since they revised them with the new style already...

    1. And you deserve plastic Thousand Sons, RollinD6. Hopefully eventually... I'd like a Book of Nurgle, or a Teaitors Legion codex for my Night Lords, but in the meantime, I've got plenty of backlog to work on...

    2. ^Traitors, not "Teaitors". Dammit! Guess that's my cue to stop trying to type with one finger when I can't edit a few lines back from where the cursor is... >_<

  12. Did anyone pre order Visions of Heresy on Amazon? Its been on there for months at a substantial discount so I certainly did however they've changed the release date today from the13th to the 27th WTF! Has gw taken the money already and then thought they could sell those copies again ? Deeply irritated.
