Forgeworld Reveals Erebus and Kor Phaeron

Just wow. If I was on the fence about a Word Bearer's army, this kind of pushes me over that edge. These two models are incredible, and are going to be available at Games Day UK, and will go up for pre-orders then.

These models are just crazy good, and would be a great start for a Word Bearer's army.

The whole video just released by Forgeworld can be seen by following the link.

  1. Not impressed. Kor Phaeron is especially strange-looking one.

    1. both of them are bloody awesome* that damned auto correct, eh? :-P

    2. No, seriously, both minies are not inspiring at all. Erebus is OK, I guess, but it's overloaded with details which all look out of place. Kor Phaeron is just fugly: rotten strawman with sick rake-claws in the hemorrhoid-pain pose.

    3. Pretty sure he's modelled that way to appear old and rotten since he's not a true astartes.

    4. The Erebus model does nothing to spur the image of erebus at all. He looks like a pre-heresy librarian, not the chief chaplain of the word bearers and primary instigatir of the horus heresy...

    5. Why are there so many books over his armour!! Who does he think he is? Sevrin Loth?

    6. Well one of his titles is master of the dark faith. Plus it seems to be a Word Bearer chaplian theme.

    7. @Tadakatsu Honda: the video explains that the sculptor purposefully left no flat surfaces. He also explained that Kor Phaeron is not an Astartes but an old man, hence the old man face and the stiff pose as he moves without the ease of an Astartes

@Jamie Kalmar: What bears words? Books! Word Bearers have a thing for books and scripture so of course Erebus is going to be loaded with the religious texts

    8. Gotta agree with Jon, beutiful models that tell a story by looking at them.

  2. Erebus looks freaking sweet. Kor Phaeron's armor is pretty awesome too, but his expression looks like he's trying to hold in a wet fart.

    1. He probably is. Read about him in this months WD, he is sculpted to look old, and to give the impression that he is falling apart.

  3. As a Word Bearers player I'll get atleast Erebus, although I may never use him (not playing 30k and DA in the codex are shit), not realy sold on Kor Phaeron though.
Maybe its the paint job, but I was not that impressed by the work in progress sculpt in the latest WD either.

I'm hoping with HH Book 2 they will release Gal Vorbak miniatures, I would get a squad of them and field them as possessed with Erebus. They would not realy do much on the table, but it would look cool.

    1. Could always be a lord with black mace? Closest I've ever seen to someone using a Dark Apostle (they used the figure)

    2. Yep
Its the pre istvanV paintjob that is odd. And the facial expresion & pose are wonkey.
Maybe repose and use diffrent head. Doesnt look very old just wiered.

  4. i actually like these. i know they may not be the most stunning figures out but they are very tasteful and compliment the other figures in the character series very well.

  5. Erebus looks amazing, I'm not really collecting the HH stuff but I might have to pick him up to make a really swanky chaplain.

  6. I love the Horus Heresy that Forge World is doing and I cant wait for the Vlka Fenryka stuff to come along. I have to admit these pair of traitors do look quite good.

  7. Erebus looks great for a model. But I don't like that red paint scheme.

  8. Red paint scheme on Erebus ruins him for me, but I do like Kor Phaeron, use him for a post-Badab War Lugft Huron conversion. Just need to add a heavy flamer.

  10. I think Erebus looks mint, at first glance he looks just like a heresy era Chaplin, but then have a little closer look, his forearms, his claw like fingers, the DIRTY parchment.........this all leads to the sign that something isn't right with this fella. my only criticism about the pic that's been put on here is that it looks like a bird has shit on right shoulder and has dribbled down a bit.

Kor kinda just looks like an old man in a terminator suit........oh wait thats what he is, i do like the proto marks of chaos that are starting to appear
