The Future of the Dreadclaw

The Dreadclaw has not been available for a bit now, and it now appears that it is not coming back. A replacement in the works and will be released later this year. Here is the latest of responses from Forgeworld.

A huge thanks to Matt for sharing this with us on Faeit 212

The Chaos Dreadclaw model has been discontinued and it will not be coming back.  We have been working on a new larger model that we showed at our Horus Heresy Weekender and this will be released later this year.

  1. I wonder if it'll keep the Dreadclaw name.

  2. Hummm What was wrong in the old one?Damm,I liked it...I think it would be great if GW someday releases a plastic one...at a no very expensive price ^^

  3. It will not its got a wierd name like kharydus assault craft or something. Designers showed at fw open and the giant legs were magnentized to retract. Its huge btw. Probably enough to fit 20 marines.

    1. Kharybdis Assault Claw (Like the New DE Hydra variant with one s which is more accurate to the Greek spelling)

  4. so who wants to bet that chaos won't get 40k access to the new assault pod.....or wait, if we do it will be missing half its options for a pitiful pts decrease.

    1. I don't see why not, the new one is a direct replacement for the old 40k transport so it stands to reason that the replacement will be for 40k also.

It's exactly why there's no drop pods in the 6E Chaos Marine codex; Forge World filled, and will continue to, fill that gap.

    2. At a rediculous cost... I however missed the boat to buy one... I'll go a little later... I'll go a little later....

And when I went... It was already gone :(

    3. Which is a dum ass reason not to give us drop pods especially since the old boat mould is dead. It's almost like GW don't want my money with this one as pods in CSM would have made me very broke indeed.

  5. earlier they had said it was a hard kit to cast and build (when they canned the it and the lander etc). at that time they said the dreadclaw would come back (but the lander wouldn't).

  6. Strange. They basically said at the HH weekender that they'd be redoing the dreadclaw on top of the kharybdis assault claw

  8. Oh goody, so the only other alternative to the single, expensive, slot-using, assault transport option for Bezerkers will be an even bigger and more expensive (only in money) assault transport option. I often imagine the World Eaters in their hay-day backed up in the "assault" ships like Glastonbury car park on the Monday morning because there's only 10 transports to take them into battle........"We could always take a Rhino..;-p" to the howls of laughter of the assembled marines..

  9. I know this sounds crazy but you could just mod a drop pod......

  10. Whats wrong with it well as well as all the other issues mentioned the fact that its covered in Chaos Stars, the new version will probably have a clear space that can have imperial syhbols instead of chaos stars for the Loyalists in 30K...
