There are often games running here on my own home every other Saturday, and sometimes more. Last night we had a couple cancellations, which meant one less table was going to be set up. However, a special guest was still going to make it for the evening.
Across the country from Brooklyn, a musician, and long time blogger, Ryan from The Prodigal Player made it, which meant an evening of talking shop, and of course getting in a demo game or two. (we only got one in).
It was a lot of fun, and we spent some time demoing Dropzone Commander, which was a harrowing battle woth mentioning. Its not often a game is finally decided by a single dice roll...... 5 separate times. Yea, we were playing with just the starter set, but such a close fight. It was a draw on objectives.... amazingly, nearly both forces had destroyed each other to almost nothing, and the game came down to 39pts when seeing who pulled off the tie breaker. Thats less than the cost of one reaper AA tank that was destroyed in the last round. Great Game. Going to call something that close a Draw.
More importantly, we spent the rest of the evening, until just after midnight, talking shop about different game systems, from Infinity, Dark Age, of course warhammer 40k, and much more.
Ryan from the Prodigal Player is is excellent at modelling and painting, far beyond my skills, so it was great to take a closer look at his models on flicker, and talk some about airbrushing and more. I think I need to get an airbrush now. Im literally talked into it, and going to read more on what he is using.
Just check out his terminator above. The entire squad is something cool to see, and you can do so over on his site. If you get a chance, head on over to his site.

Its always amazing to meet more people in the hobby, as our community is much more fun to be around, and meet, than the typical negative image which seems so dominant on forums and online.
Next game night in two weeks, and of course I will have up to 4 tables set up. If you are in the area, shoot me an email.
And oh.... for those two of you that canclled last night..... I was looking forward to the 2500pt Chaos Space Marine vs new Space Marine battle that was going to happen, but you missed a great night of games and hanging out. So stop eating so much crap and getting yourselves sick.
