Farsight Enclaves Hardback Pre-Orders

We have been wondering when this would go live, and its been hard to find, or perhaps I have just missed it. According to Games Workshop Digital, pre-orders are going live October 19th, thats right, Saturday!

This the second Codex Supplement to reach print copy. (wishing the gap would close), and here is what was said by Games Workshop.

  1. These supplements are mean to old school paper enthusiasts, they release them and you hear about the rules then you have to drool over 'what might be' for months until the hardback!
It's worth the wait though for what has been an amazing explosion of GW publications.
Some small part of me fears going for a game and seeing someone walk in with a pile of books that towers to eye level for their army.

    1. or they have a phone/ tablet/ laptop with all the supplements and rules they need :P no book pile in sight!

I agree that its great that GW are releasing all this content, just need the funds to buy it all.

    2. Problem with having all digital, at least in my neck of the woods, is FLGSs will not approve a list from a supplement in a tourney unless a hardback copy of the supplement exists and is present. They're paranoid of people modifying files and rules in the digital ones. I just think they're paranoid...

    3. Also there's the right to choose the medium you want your rules in.
I make the active choice to wait for hardback so i'm OK with waiting, but yeah - i don't have a laptop, i don't have a tablet, and there's no way i want to read rules on an iphone.
Having the book in hand just feels... right.

  2. I love Supplements - I think they're a long over due way to expand our gaming world.

I do, though, wish there wasn't so much time between the digital release and the paper release. I suppose they use it to test the water on whether the thing will sell well enough to warrant printing.

    1. Plus remove all those silly mistakes and not having to FAQ it less than a week after it hitting the stores.

    2. In fact as a Tau player since they first came out, I would love to see Gue'la battle brothers (ex- Imperial guard or even some of the other races mentioned ie space dwarves). Maybe even Ethereal’s have nagi up-grade to become psykers, even if it’s just to let them have Adamantium Will. As psykers are the bane of Tau at times.

    3. Gue'vesa sorta got rules in IA 3 2e, But I agree wanting more auxiliary units to really promote the whole "Empire" of mixed races.

    4. I think allies work just fine for this. I'd rather have more unique supplements release to give people something they couldn't already do. I'm not saying that the recent books have 100% lived up to that, but that's what I'd like to see.

  4. I don't know what the go is, but I was in my local GW Today in Australia and the staff member had just gotten the store copy of Farsight enclave in hardback and let me have a look through it
