The new warbands in Warhammer Underworlds: Beastgrave aren’t just big news for the ultimate competitive miniatures game, they’re big news for Warhammer Age of Sigmar too! Both Grashrak’s Despoilers and Skaeth’s Wild Hunt are getting warscrolls and matched play points of their own, and both have a place in your army…

Grashrak’s Despoilers

Costing 140 points – a mere 40 points more than a standard Great Bray-Shaman! – Grashrak’s Despoilers are an awesome option in any Beasts of Chaos army. First up, Grashrak’s unique spell, Savage Bolt, is brilliant for assisting a big block of Tzaangor EnlightenedBestigor or Bullgor in going through your chosen target.
Grashrak also has the Infuse with Bestial Vigour ability from the Great Bray-Shaman’s warscroll, helping to boost the, already ferocious, mobility of nearby Brayherd units.
Grashrak is accompanied by the rest of his warband, who have a warscroll of their own. These bestial brutes are particularly useful as bodyguards, thanks to their Grashrak’s Savage Herd ability which allows them to intercept wounds meant for the Bray-Shaman! This helps you shield an otherwise squishy character from errant spells and ranged attacks…
We’d recommend keeping both Grashrak Fellhoof and Grashrak’s Despoilers on your herdstone as a tactical lynchpin for the rest of your army. Use Grashrak’s Savage Bolt to mark key enemies for death while employing his warband to keep him safe – if you’re not at risk from enemy fire, sacrifice them to the herdstone for sweet, sweet Primordial Call points. Alternatively, you can take them as an ally to a wider Chaos army – Savage Bolt boosts the attacks of ANY unit, not just Brayherds.

Skaeth’s Wild Hunt

Representing their close alliances with the Sylvaneth, Skaeth’s Wild Hunt fight alongside the tree-folk of the Oakenbrow glade in Warhammer Age of Sigmar. They’re a nifty supporting choice, particularly for melee-heavy armies that use lots of Kurnoth Hunters with Kurnoth Greatswords or units of Tree-Revenants, thanks to their unique Might of Kurnoth spell.
An additional +1 to wound is always welcome, and can seriously maximise your offensive output in a pinch! The range of Might of Kurnoth is pretty short, but between the Sylvaneth’s Realmroots ability (which allows them to teleport using nearby Wyldwoods) and Skaeth’s Wild Hunt’s Fleet of Foot ability, they have no problem getting to where they need to be.
For a mere 120 points, Skaeth’s Wild Hunt is a great alternative to a Branchwych or Branchwraith with a cracking niche in melee-heavy Sylvaneth lists.
