This week’s pre-orders from Forge World return to the Age of Darkness with new options for Legiones Astartes commanders. First up is a great addition to any Space Marine Legion that’s looking for speed and firepower – the Proteus Pattern Land Speeder.
This Fast Attack choice is a mainstay of the Legions, utilizing anti-grav technology to create a highly mobile reconnaissance and rapid attack platform. Land Speeders can be equipped with a wide variety of different weapons to suit any mission, and squadrons of them are often used as rapid-reaction forces, sent in to destroy enemy armour or clear out infantry positions.
There are two Proteus Pattern Land Speeder sets available to pre-order now, each a 43-piece kit that builds the same basic model, but with different weapons options. Set 1 comes with a plasma cannon, heavy flamer, heavy bolter, multi-melta and grav-gun, providing plenty of options for taking on any enemy.
Set 2 focuses on dealing with infantry, giving you a volkite culverin, a pair of heavy bolters and a havoc launcher. Both sets add twin hunter-killer missiles for added punch.
Also joining the Heresy this weekend are a pair of leaders for the mysterious Alpha Legion.
Praetors are the highest ranked warriors of the Legiones Astartes – the Lord Commanders, Chapter Masters and others who command entire hosts of Space Marines and whose actions determine the fate of worlds. Armed with the finest weapons and clad in nigh-impregnable plate, they are formidable foes, and their mere presence on the battlefield can be enough to turn the tide.
The Alpha Legion Praetor in Cataphractii Terminator Armour is a veritable walking tank, and his volkite charger and power sword make him a figure to be feared at range or up-close.
The power-armoured Alpha Legion Praetor is very much equipped for close assault, a holstered bolt pistol and paragon blade marking him out as a skilled combatant. Striding forward while drawing his blade, this model will definitely stand out amongst your Alpha Legion force.
