From the battlements of the White City to the grimy depths of the underhive and the blood-soaked playing fields of the Old World, this week sees a host of new models and accessories arrive from Forge World.
First up is a pair of Gondorian Heroes for your Middle-earth games. Denethor is the Steward of Gondor, but has been slipping into madness since the death of his eldest son, Boromir (and with the aid of manipulation by the Dark Lord Sauron). When his other child, Faramir, returns from battle on the brink of death, Denethor’s mind breaks, and he resolves to give them both a mighty funeral pyre… even though Faramir’s not quite dead yet.
This stunning new resin model depicts Denethor in the grip of madness, wielding a flaming torch as he heads toward the Houses of the Dead to burn the still-living body of his son.
Also in the set with Denethor is Irolas. A captain of the Citadel Guard, this hero is sworn to obey the Steward, and cannot stop his act of madness. He stands at guard, his helmet in one hand and the other on the grip of his sword, ready to strike should the situation demand it. Irolas is the perfect Hero to lead a warband of Citadel Guard into battle – and his special ability to use the Shielding rule (even without a shield) and still strike the enemy if he wins can be extremely useful indeed.
Both of these Heroes can be used in a Minas Tirith army. Denethor’s rules are in The Armies of The Lord of the Rings™, and you can download experimental rules for Irolas here.
Less noble are the gangers of House Cawdor, scavengers and fanatics who will turn anything into a weapon to aid them in their crusade. Today, they can add new makeshift arms to their arsenal with a pair of weapons packs. Each contains enough weapons to outfit an entire plastic Cawdor gang and includes a mix of reclaimed guns, improvised close-combat weapons, flamers and more exotic gear such a long rifle, chainglaive and incendiary charge. Both Cawdor Weapons Set 1 and Cawdor Weapons Set 2 add masses of variety to your loadouts, and are available to pre-order now.
Last up today is a set of alternative sculpts for Blood Bowl Orc Teams. The Orc Team Booster allows a head coach to add a new Blitzer, a Thrower and 2 Black Orcs to their line-up, all of them in resin and sporting different poses from the existing plastic models.
If you want to add some variety to your Orc team, now is your chance. Along with all the rest of today’s releases, you can pre-order them now!
