We are continuing to look at the lists readers are making all this week, and see just what people are experimenting with. List building is just a ton of fun, and I will be posting up in the order I receive them.

So if you would like to submit an army list (if you already have an idea of what you might field), shoot me your list to share with others. Please title your email "8th Edition Army Submission" or similar, and shoot it off to natfka@live.com. Only first names will be used along with the submission.

I’m starting to move back into 40k because of the promise of more balanced games. I’ve been playing dark elder for years but normally with 8+ raiders in any given list.  I’ve seen many similar lists like the one provided below floating around in Dark Eldar forums.

Kabalite Brigade (1998 points)
HQ (3) (284)
Archon with an agoniser and a blaster 73
Archon with an agoniser and a blaster 73
Archon with an agoniser and a blaster 73
Venom 65

Elite (3) (285)
5 Trueborn with 2 dark lance 95
5 Trueborn with 2 dark lance 95
5 Trueborn with 2 dark lance 95

Troop (6) (540)
10 Warriors with a dark lance 90
10 Warriors with a dark lance 90
10 Warriors with a dark lance 90
10 Warriors with a dark lance 90
10 Warriors with a dark lance 90
10 Warriors with a dark lance 90

Fast Attack (5) (379)
5 Scourges with shard carbines 70
5 Scourges with shard carbines 70
5 Scourges with shard carbines 70
5 Scourges with shard carbines 70
3 Reavers with an agoniser and a grav talon 99

Heavy Support (3) (510)
Ravager with 3 disintegrators 170
Ravager with 3 disintegrators 170
Ravager with 3 disintegrators 170

The list uses the brigade detachment and attempts to keep the enemy at 18, 24 or 36 inch range, with the exception of 3 counterpunching Archons in a venom and 3 Reaver jetbikes for sneaky objective hunting.

The Ravagers hunt primaris marines and space marines devastator squads or tanks as a fallback, the Kabalites try to shoot vehicles with dark lances and the nearest infantry unit with max range splinter rifles and the Scourges mitigate my armies static nature by deep striking into the fringes of the enemy formation to try and capture objectives that my opponent hasn’t fully invested in holding.

The list is likely better against elite high toughness armies where the +4 poison is worthwhile and most enemy units don’t have the volume of fire to make their points back, but will suffer against armies with cheap spammable units with a high volume of attacks (like orcs in transports or guardsmen).

Regards
Luke
