The new edition bodes well for all duardin, and the Dispossessed are no exception. Like their allies in the Fyreslayers and Kharadron Overlords, the Dispossessed have received some very welcome points reductions across a wide range of units, from Longbeards to Ironbreakers and even Irondrakes – your war throng just got bigger.
Talking of Ironbreakers, we’ve got some good news on these elite guardians – they’re now Battleline in a Dispossessed army! If you’re new to Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Battleline units represent the core of an army, and every matched play force must include a number of such units, and many Allegiances reward you with more powerful options for Battleline to reward your focused list-building. Ironbreakers are a great Battleline option, simply because they’re so hard to kill thanks to their Gromril Shields ability, which lets them choose to re-roll saves if they don’t run or charge, and their Forge-proven Gromril Armour, which lets them ignore Rend unless it’s -2 or better.
Runelords are going to be an invaluable part of any Dispossessed army in the new edition, and we reckon they’ll be making their way into quite a few Order forces as allies, too. For those of you not familiar with the Runelord, this Dispossessed hero can unbind spells like a Wizard, and gets +2 to his roll when he does so. With the Rulelord now able to unbind spells at 30″, a couple of these guys will kneecap your enemy’s spells in the hero phase and force them to keep their Wizards huddled at the back if they want to cast anything!
Want to take advantage of the endless spells? You’ll still be able to do that in the new edition thanks to the Sacrosanct Chamber – a Knight-Incantor or even a Lord-Arcanum will provide great allied additions to your force. Of course, if you’d rather trust fellow duardin that the stormlings, then a couple of Grundstok Gunhaulers wouldn’t go amiss.
