Vehicle design is personally one of my favorite things in the Genesys Project, and for Humanoids, vehicles can become an important part of your faction. So I wanted to talk a little about it and show off some examples, especially since the next humanoid update is coming soon with some vehicle and weapon edits.


The most common type of vehicles we have seen on the playtest tables for Humanoid species are rather standard vehicles from General Knowledge and Science Traits . These are easy to access and customize. Need heavy transport with an Autocannon? Or perhaps you want to install a missile launcher on top of that transport instead. Of course you can always take that autocannon and turn it into a fully automatic weapon, load it up with incendiary rounds, or even a fixed anti bunker ordinance weapon for your loaded soldiers to push through once a breach is created. All of this is easily created in Genesys and much more.

Lets take a look at a medium vehicle transport. The first thing that those already testing the game are saying is..... "Hey, Medium Vehicles are not in the current version" Yes, that is correct. Testing and your comments have found a gap in the vehicles, and I am going to post up the current Medium Vehicle rules here for you, along with the updated Core Systems list. (The advanced ones have some minor changes, but not quite as much here.

Medium Vehicles: 75pts
are usually armored apcs, or light battle tanks, with Heavier armor for frontline fighting.
Strength: 5  Toughness: 7  Movement: 4 -Wheels
Power: 6      Core Systems 3   Armor 1
Mtn: 5         Rtn: 7
Crew: 4 Enclose
Passenger Capacity: 5- Enclosed

Core System Options
Built in Turret Weapon System Xpts: Integrated Weapon System (Turret)
Reinforced Front/side Armor 10pts: Armor 1 (front and side armor only)
Personnel Carrier 10pts: Increase Passenger Capacity 5 for Light, medium and Heavy vehicles
Vehicle Enclosure 10pts: Compartment Upgrades- Enclosed (Passenger, and crew)
Crew Mounted Weapon Xpts: Pintle Mounted Weapon
Xtra Crew Mounted Weapon Xpts: Pintle Mounted Weapon
Coaxial Smoke Launchers 5pts: Cover 2

So lets look at a design that is easy to create. You will notice for those not familiar is that you add core systems to your vehicle to create your unique vehicle designs. 


Armored Personnel Carrier (Ion Class) (this is from a recent playtest session) 140pts
Strength: 5  Toughness: 7  Movement: 4 -Wheels
Power: 6      Core Systems 3   Armor 1
Mtn: 5         Rtn: 7
Crew: 4 Enclose
Passenger Capacity: 5- Enclosed

Core Systems:
1)Turret Weapon System: Ion Cannon 50pts
Strength: 8, EMI 7
Accuracy Range 30”
Rate of Fire: 1
Reduce Armor 2, Loader, EMI Pulse, Blooming\
Thats right.. This is a nasty ion beam that can shut down enemy vehicles power with an EMI pulse, or on a critical fry the vehicles electrical systems to incapacitate it.

3)Personnel Carrier 10pts: Increase Passenger Capacity 5 for Light, medium and Heavy vehicles



Light Attack Vehicle These types of vehicles are quite common with various weapon configurations from Machine Guns to Autocannons, 80pts

Crew: 3 protected 1
Passenger Capacity: 5- protected 1

Now lets to a Heavy Battle Tank.


Main Heavy Battle Tank This is a beast of a tank, and while dangerous. 210pts
Strength: 5  Toughness: 8  Movement: 3 -Tracks
Power: 7      Core Systems: 4  Armor 2 +1 front and sides
Mtn: 5         Rtn: 7
Crew: 5- Enclosed
Passenger Capacity: 0 Enclosed

1)105mm Cannon 50pts
Strength: 10
Accuracy Range 48”
Rate of Fire: 1, Ammo Depletion, Loader 3
So, yes.... we are going to take a couple differing advanced munitions with this cannon.
Heavy Incendiary +10pts: Increase strength (Fire) 2
Airburst Rounds +5pts: Reduce Cover 2, Blast 1”, Reduce Strength 2
