Updated Release Schedule for Jan-June

The latest is an updated release schedule that is really full and jam packed with releases. Including everything from Chaos Space Marines, Harlequins, Adeptus Mechanicus, and quite possibly an Adeptus Sororitas release.

Some of this for myself rather comes out of the blue, as no other sources on my end are mentioning the Sisters of Battle in any form, at least not in this short of a time frame. The last I was told on Sisters was early 2016, but that was quite some time ago. We will have to see what the future holds, and he does say maybe. So perhaps its one of those things that is still up in the air.

Please remember that these are rumors. I am trying to find out some more details, so if I can get an update to this in a few hours, or anyone else to help enlighten us on the subject, I will.

  1. What happened to the Vect release that was rumoured by Nightfury? He's been a pretty reliable source so it's weird not to see it.

    1. Not sure. I posted this as it came to me.

    2. I think it was established somewhere that GW can change their release schedule on the fly. Maybe they switched him out once the rumors leaked?

    3. I know, and the post is appreciated! I just want me some more Dark Eldar nastiness =P

    4. Maybe he'll be released along quins for some odd reason?

Or maybe they ran into enough issues that someone said "listen, this model isn't working, cancel it until you get a good idea"...
Though given how many ideas in GW have fallen short in the "how did nobody figured out this is wrong" department, the latter seems even less possible than the former.

    6. Theory: the "CSM supplement" may be a campaign?

    7. We appreciate the info, but be careful, Nightfury. There can't be that many female GW employees with knowledge of releases. Don't give out too much info (such as when she's going on business trips), otherwise they may be able to narrow down who is enlightening us.

    8. @Nightfury: Any chance Sisters are on that list?

    9. Warboss steve had a diffrent releas list 2-3 weeks ago. He just changed it to fit new rumors.
Make of that what you want.

    10. +1 J, I'd love to hear about Vect but at the expense of someone's job!

    11. I tend to agree with your theory Ian. gonna be a campaign

  2. Chaos releases, Sisters, Harlequins, Adeptus Mechanicus and 9th ed?!!
Either the worlds gone crazy Natfka or you have, aha. Either way thanks for the interesting release schedule.

    1. Yea, thats why I am trying to find out more information on some of this. It seems a little crazy. This is how it came to me this morning.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see all of this. My understanding has been that skitarii are coming much later, and that Sisters were not coming until 2016. So I am seeing if I can get some answers to a few of my questions today.... (normally hard to do on a Sunday)

    2. Assuming this is true, the possible reasoning could be that GW saw that speeding up releases goes well, so they went ahead and decided to speed things up even further.
      One can dream.

    3. So long as it doesn't result in a rush job yoash

    4. Its GW we are talking about.
You are the one dreaming now, it will be a rushed job if it will be next decade :P

    5. ^ GW has put sisters in the too hard basket for some time now. if and when we see sisters of battle it'll likely be like you mentioned.

i wonder how GW will respond to that other company whose making what appear to be sisters equivalents......hopefully they ignore it and believe it's a lost cause, because how long does something have to be in the too hard basket, when we have virtually every flavor or design of space marine, just not one that's "female"......yet it's too hard for GW to do.

    6. When they releas SOB they will be packed as 5 & cost.asmuch as BA Termis. So i wont really care even if they get models this year.

      Delete
    7. @seb12: More likely to be costed and packaged like a Tactical Marine squad instead. They aren't large bulky models, and right now they cost $90+ for a unit of 10. So even if it's $60 for 10 it'd be a big discount to see them in plastic.

    8. Zion's right. they'll proably be priced like taticals. GW charges a lot but generally there's a degree of... consistancy

    9. The release schedule is being shuffled about right now to clear a landing zone for a May release of the newly reformed WHFB.. though i can't confirm any of the minor details like round bases(very likely) or rules(I've never played fantasy) it is being said that the new edition won't exactly be a 9th? Edition but may in fact be a first edition of a very revamped WHFB of course all the recent books will be very applicable to the playstyle ie wood and dark elves as well as dwarves as these books were written/produced during the same time the core game was being rehashed, again I've never played fantasy so i can't comment on how any of this will actually impact playstyle but I've been told as a 40k player it will be very easy to pick up the new edition of WHFBand be able to play a game

  3. Curious about the CSM supplement. Wasn't it supposed to be a codex?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I've seen rumors swinging both ways on it, but it's seeming more and more likely to be a supplement and not a codex.

      Delete
    2. yeah, a codex seems a tad... early. however a campaign book series seems very possiable.

  4. Even SoB get more updates than Bretonnia.

It'll happen one day, right? Right?

    1. If the Fantasy rumors are true Bretonnia will be updated by being folded into the more general "human" faction.

    2. QUOTE: "If the Fantasy rumors are true Bretonnia will SQUATTED into the more general "human" faction."
      FIXED FOR YOU

    3. Bretonnians have had more than 1 release in the past.

      - Original Metals
      - 1st Plastics
      - Current Plastics

      Sisters have had.... Two.

      - Initial Release
      - 2nd Release to add more models. Save for the Immolator - nothing is replaced.

P: Sisters Of Battle, I believe - may be the oldest army on GWs site now.

      Delete
    4. @Chris White: Squatting is the permanent removal of an army as a playable option. Putting their rules in a larger faction doesn't prevent you from playing them by themselves. Putting Black Templars inside of the Space Marine codex doesn't prevent you from playing them for example.

Seriously, you're blowing the rumor way out of proportion there.

    5. @christine and their 6th edition codex update via digital.

    6. brets have had more models and more rules support over it's lifespan compared to sisters and their support via releases for them. but it's apples and pears. they both seem to be GW's least favorite to support. but brets essentially are already part of the "empire" they just technically in the past have been that uniquely different they were deemed to have a armybook, now they aren't as special as they once were and it seems they no longer deem it nessecary for brets to have a solo book.

would be awesome if they actually showed support of one of their most interesting factions [armies] within their other game system [40k] the SOB/Adepta Sororitas....or you know don't kick up a stink when another company does make them.

  5. I hoped 9th Edition wouldn't be until July/August. But the sooner the better I suppose. Got to get saving.

  6. I've already dismissed the AdMech rumors. The fact that they're still in this rumor indicates I need higher levels of sodium in my diet.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Just make sure you don't ingest sodium fluoride instead of chloride or you may have a few more problems than the potential admech release to worry about......

      Delete
    2. True Ad Mech adept doesn't care what sodium they ingest.

Sodium fluoride would even work as a good substance for transmitting and storing heat from those very hot cogitator implants on their cranium since it has higher heat capacity than water and starts to melt at nearly 1300K and won't boil until nearly 2000K temperatures.

  7. Well I hope the Sisters one is true -and- that it's a real update this time, but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch on this one.

  8. Even if a Sisters release was just a combi-box for a Sororitas/Retributors squad, that'd be awesome. I'd happily use their current dex as long I got some plastic infantry.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yup, just one combi-box would be awesome!

      Delete
    2. a box of 5 similar to DA vets- 1 sprue with 5 MPPK sisters would be enough for me +1 sprue with sister specific weapons.....i am sure i could make majority out of existing kits for other units.

  9. Be still, my heart, for the fates are cruel to us sisters players.

  10. Warhammer Fantasy is technically called Warhammer already

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. technically people whom don't know the distinction between fantasy or 40k also call it simply "Warhammer" but more often add an "s" to the end "Warhammer's".

      Delete
  11. Sisters and Ad Mech are a very good idea, seeing as all i hear about WHFB 9th sounds like i may not be buying any more for fantasy.

    ReplyDelete
  12. If that story about blob of reality waving for the warp is true, maybe there will be no strong distinction between fantasy and 40k.
