Sister's Of Battle: Models In Production

We have been told at one point recently that the codex for the Sister's Of Battle (Adeptas Sororitas) was done. Now we are getting more news that not only is the codex done, but the models are in production right now for a full release, Dark Eldar Style. This would definitely be fantastic looking for a Q2 release.

Please remember that these are rumors.

From a little Ripper Swarm to me:
The Codex is done, the models are in production, and it's nebulously a Q2 release. It's the Dark Eldar treatment-- rebuilt the range from the ground up, completely.

    2. Oh yes please! I so regret not buying a set of the multipart fanatic redemptionists before they discontinued specialist games. .. Some new missionaries would be cool and have some great INQ 28 potential!

    2. Live to See the rumor?

There was rumors about finished models before. Wait till you see the models before you stop takeing salt.
Going by the latest annual Report, i would not count on risky releases that only Fans want.

  3. Cautiously optimistic, but this is not the first time we've heard rumors like this...

    1. All the rumours I ever heard on this centered around production delays due to problems with intricate details on the molds, not an imminent release. Either they finally sorted out the casting process for these kits, or they revised the work that was already done.

    2. or those rumors were BS. I see the stuff they make with all the current ranges (fantasy 40k) and can not be convinced that a little flour de lisse is hard to cast. I agree with chris. I want so bad for it to be true. but have been kicked down to many times to jump on it

    3. @Paul: The rumour was that the wimples (nun's hoods for those who don't know) were the problem. Apparently the plastic injection machines they use to make the molds were not properly filling in those areas. Keeping in mind of course, all models produced by GW are done at least one year in advance. When someone reports seeing models in development, always add a year or more to what the source estimates as the timeframe for release.

  4. Thinking about selling my 50 Sisters in advance to this release... But i never trust these rumours about Sororitas...to many years hearing them xD

  5. I just got 3 Immolators and the last two Sisters figures I needed from GW in the mail yesterday. This guarantees that this rumour is true and that Immolators will be made obsolete. I've always had bad timing that way. :-p

    3. Weeks ago it was Admech & harlequins.
People always spread rumors for the Fan favorite stuff.

All we need now is more CSM Legion rumors & Squats rumors

  8. Even if new sisters were up for pre-order from the GW webstore I still wouldn't believe it.

  9. Ooooh God... please!!!!!
Although... yeah, the sculpts were a bit old, but the basic SoB's design was great, hardly in need of as radical a change as that which the DE range needed... and got.

  11. I am not getting too excited about this rumour, but equally I don't have any concerns about the SoB codex being re-done. I mean, they can hardly get less competitive. So not the FULL Dark Eldar treatment ;p

  12. Sisters: aren't they the shorted bearded guys with the heavy weapon fetish?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. they are. the ones with grizzly beards are the sister superiors, those with no beards are repentia, someone cut their beards off while they slept....i heard they'll make a sister within a sister within a sister, sorta like inception but more butch.

  13. What will come first? A Sisters release or the Toronto Maple Leafs making the playoffs? (was going to say win the Stanley Cup but at this rate would settle for playoffs right now. :P)

  19. Until I see it, I'll file this with the new AdMech codex and the all-new Lizardman armybook, thanks very much.

  20. I should confirm this is correct, but don't assume Q2 means this year, or next year or Q2 for that matter... I'll let Harry sort that bit out.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I should also say this will be an epic not Epic release :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Mmhmm, I believe it. Same with that sweet new Genestealer cult, and the Hrud getting a codex.

  23. As I said, now is the best time for GW to delve into stuff new and old instead of rehashing the usual books.

They want the money. We want the models. Time will tell.

    1. Yeah
But makeing so many Molds cost a lot.
When GW made DE & Crons they were also makeing 11 Mio a year & could afford a risk. Now times have changed.

  24. I think I'll delay holding my breath on this one.

  25. To all the Sisters players out there from a space marine player, GOOD FOR YOU!! it's about time :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. The thing is that it would not take make to update the SoB in comparison to Dark Eldar. As with grey knights, every unit can be made off of one, maybe 2 kits. You have regular sisters, Celestians (veterans), Command Squads all of which can be made of one kit. You can even include Serpahim into that kit if you include the jump packs (again like GK). All thats left are Repentia (basic kit or even a large clam pack), cannoness (again, clam pack) and maybe a vehicle multi-kit for Immolator and Exorcist. Thats 2, maybe 3 plastics kits a couple clam packs tops. Maybe just one more for the Penitent Engine.

Like I said, not too much to bring SoB up to date.

  27. If I was running GW I would be keeping an eye on what's what in the gaming world. For example, I would hold off releasing plastic sisters until Raging heroes started releasing their Toughest girls in the galaxy range. I for one considered using them for stand in sisters! Another example could be the re-release of space hulk the same month that Prodos game's AvP hulk fest was supposed to come out! Of course I could be talking out my arse (and the Malbec is flowing nicely this evening!) but it does kinda make sense. Although thinking about it now, why would you pay to store stock that you could sell? (That sentence sounds weird!) bah! Roll another and pour some more wine!!!!

  28. MY EMOSHUNS.

But really, I'm not buying it till this rumor gets more buy-in from reputable sources.

  29. Couldn't care less. Not sure what the fuss about sisters of battle is anyway?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I also hear that the Chaos Space Marine Chosen plastic kit it coming out In Q2 as well -_- Bins of salt for sale!

  31. I am cautiously optimistic... But only now because Shield of Baal Exterminatus involved Sisters of Battle in many levels. They were featured In Fluff, in models wise and in arts wise. That is only reason for now this seems more plausible for me than previous SoB rumors...

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'll believe that there is a SoB codex release because codex rumors usually end up true. I won't hold my breath on the models though until I can see them with my own eyes.

  33. useless and too late. no more players in our communities now. maority switches to dust tactics and x-wing =(
