Necron Pre-Orders are Up!

Necrons are up for Pre-Orders right now, which appears at this time to be a one week release. There are many things that we are looking at, like the Decurion Detachments, and anything major that changes with this release. With the exception of a Necron Overlord model, there is not much in the way of new models.

Codex: Necrons
Long ago, the Necrons ruled the galaxy as its immortal overlords, before the march of time and wounds of war forced them into hibernation. For millions of years their armies slumbered – endless ranks of deathless warriors held in stasis until the time when the Necrons would once again seek to dominate the stars. At long last, that time has come…

Within this 120-page hardback Codex you will find the ancient history of the Necrons, including:

The Necron Legions – detailing the background, key battles, colour schemes, iconography and the notable dynasties of the Necrons

The Immortal Armies – a showcase of beautifully painted Necron miniatures

Forces of the Necrons – rules for fielding your collection of Necrons on the tabletop including: brand new Necron Decurion Detachment rules, datasheets for every character and unit in the Codex, 8 formations for fielding specific combinations of miniatures

Also included are new warlord traits, Necron wargear, 6 Powers of the C’tan psychic powers, and 6 Tactical Objectives specifically for the Necrons

Necron Overlord
Commanding legion upon legion of deathless soldiers whose only purpose is to obey his every order, the Necron Overlord is a cold, calculating demigod. He has the pick of a multitude of arcane armaments of his ancient race – powerful artefacts that predate many of the galaxy’s greatest civilisations.

This 10-piece plastic kit makes one Necron Overlord armed with a warsycthe and resurrection orb. The model is supplied with a 40mm round base.

    4. GW shop in Wien /Austria will not have any english ones, sometimes they get 5 pieces on day one. Living in Europe i find getting english cards straight impossible. The local GW shop still can no tprovide me with english tactical cards. Just... not... possible.

  2. Cool overlord miniature. Almost tempts me back into 40K. Necrons are a favourite army, just need new destroyers and plastic multi part plastic Crypteks (like WHF wizards).

  3. That Cryptek edition is probably my favourite LE codex so far. Utterly gorgeous.

    1. I totally agree. Its the first time i've been tempted to buy it. Especially with the talk that they plan to keep the Codexes as they are now with rather basic contents and it be through supplements that armies get updated. It'll likely have a long shelf life.

    2. If they update Dark Angels to 7th, I'm *so* in there for the LE dex. I swore I never would, but they've got their hooks into me =P

  4. The box sets have necron models on standard base sizes if you look at the detailed pics. Looks like necrons stay at the same size.

    1. Looking at the descriptions of the bundles, it looks like Immortals etc come on 32mm bases, Warriors on 25mm. Could be that they haven't updated the pics yet

    2. Ah, you are probably right.

    3. The description on the Immortal kit etc hasn't been updated, and neither was the Battleforce. I'm curious about base sizes that you get with these kits, it could be that we will be getting 25mm bases until stock lasts.

    4. The description in the Reclamation Leigion bundle says it comes with "thirty-nine 25mm round bases and forty 32mm round bases to give you the choice of how you want to base your miniatures."
So it seems to me that they want to shift everyone over to 32mm bases, but will still let us use the 25mm's for now.

    5. Yeah. Necron Dynasty comes with 50 25mm bases and and 46 32mm bases, while having 40 warriors, 20 immortals and 5 elite infantry. You're forced to mix and match.

Similarly, The Tomb Awakened (10 Immortals, 5 elite infantry) comes with 32mm bases only.

I don't think they know what they're doing.

  8. As an avid Necron collector (I've yet to play an actual game of W40K) I'm super glad for this websites heads up so that I knew to look for the Special Edition. I am one of the lucky few and it means a lot to me. Thank you to the community for having my back. Now if I can just get $4500.00 worth of Necron's put together maybe I can see what the game is really like. (I saved a lot to buy everything necron over the years)
