Faeit's Weekly Tarot: Tyranids, Forgeworld, and Release Schedules

It was a much busier week than it first appears. Tyranids are now up for pre-orders, rumors of the Imperial Guard, Forgeworld, and what 2014 releases will look like all were topics this week.

Faeit's Tarot is a look at the headlines and rumors of the week, so that we can look ahead and see just what may be coming in the future for our hobby

A Look at 2014 Releases

Here is the release order that Warhammer 40k is supposed to look like, and by following the link there are more details on other Release orders and schedules. Also there is some talk that Lords of War will start making the codex later this year, and some changes to the Leman Russ.

Imperial Guard Rumors

There were a lot of Imperial Guard rumors, all of them sort of heading in the same direction; with new Steel Legion boxes, new Veteran/Storm Troopers, new big tank, and a new kit for the basilisk. These all made the rumor lists for this week from different sources. The Imperial Guard are rumored for March.

Imperial Guard Steel Legions,Veterans Seen: Pushfit Models in the Future ****
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/01/imperial-guard-steel-legionsveterans.html
I have seen pictures of plastic 10 man squads of steel legion and imperial guard veterans. The steel legion appear to be pushfit plastic and are plastic re-sculpts. There is also a big tank seen, but no additional information right now.

All finecast has been discontinued and no models will be made in finecast. This currently only applies to 40k to test how it works with the community.

I have heard a rumour that GW are moving to a stage where they want to make more troops as pushfit models, and use multipart plastic sprues or elite/fast attack/heavy support models, to reduce consumer prices for more commonly purchased troop choices.

You can expect pushfit for named characters and multipart plastic for generic hq.

A Cipher model is done that appears to be pushfit, and I expected it to be released with the dataslate which did not happen, so perhaps something is coming.

Tyranid Rumors

Tyranids are now up for pre-orders, but that doesnt stop the rumors for any rules we will be seeing next week at this time. Rules and other codex information has been rather quiet, leading me to believe that the lock down on the codex information has been rather successful. Here is what we learned this week.

Forgeworld Changes Coming Soon

If you are still doubting changes coming to Forgeworld, and how production is handled between Forgeworld and Games Workshop, you will be caught by surprise when it all goes down. Multiple people behind the scenes are talking about this daily now. Its a hot topic that I think is flying under the radar a little, and its going to hit very soon in the next couple months.

No Rumors or News Beyond this Point
I am rating what I personally think of the rumors (not the source). This is based off of behind the scenes knowledge, what different sources are saying, and general logic and guesswork. It goes like this

5 Stars. If its got a 5 star rating, Although still rumor, its only so because nothing has been officially announced (These are on the level that the Rumor Information is just undeniable or confirmed )

4 Stars is a very reliable rumor, and comes from someone I generally know to be in a good place, or the rumors match up well. These are not facts!, These are still rumors, and even great sources can have some information wrong on occasion. (think hastings-like, or close to that)

3 Stars, is a decent rumor. Should be looked at with some truth in it. An average rumor (most will fall here). Rumor based off of real information, discussion, or we do not know where it falls. (Like I said, most will fall here, and this is the baseline.)

2 stars. Most likely speculation, but sound OK. Every once in a while these have something (think Natfka doesn't really think this is happening, but ya never know)

1 Star. Way out in left field, and I feel that these are probably just wild speculation or made up. (think whoa, where the hell did this come from, and generally posted up because its fun, or Natfka was bored)
