How Much is Nov 7th Going to Cost Me? Horus Heresy Pre-Order

November 7th is a big date release for Games Workshop, and it should already be marked on your calendar. Basically we are looking at a big Horus Heresy release, that rumors point to a stand alone box game. However, with all the "all hands on deck" it could be something more. Here is the latest, and a hint given to us on how much its going to cost!

Rumors....

But my sources told me I should save the same amount of money as for a limited edition codex for Nov.7th "because you will want that pre-order... to be fair, all of us will want that pre-order!" whatever it is, something big is going to drop Nov.7, any staff member could tell you that, as it is a "all hands on deck date".

  1. That... Actually seems fairly reasonable? So what, like $175? Probably works out at around £120, split between two players...

    Yeah, not bad!

    1. Do we know if it'll be a limited item or will it hang around a while longer?

My unemployed self can't afford it right now, so I'm praying it'll stick around til I can get a job =P

    2. I don't think we even know what it is yet...

    3. I am *very* close to it, Mauler =P

    4. Urgh star wars battlefront and fallout 4 come out on the same week, hope thus is not a limited run!

      Delete
    5. Well I can save you some money....don't get battlefront, it's a huge disappointment...well done EA!! And fallout 4 will drop in price in a few months, it always does.
If it is a limited run, then you'll only get it by paying through the nose on eBay.
Short term to long term cost analysis is simple sometimes. Lol

    6. Oh how wrong you are Bob Bobington. At least about the price of Fallout 4. I waited over nine months for the price to drop from $60 to $40. It never happened, at least here in Canada.

So I waited over nine months to try and save money and it never happened. So I am sure the price of Fallout 4 will not go down at least for a year if Fallout 3 is to go by.

Yeah I love how GW says they are not in competition with video games or card games. When my money is going to Fallout 4 instead of GW, yeah GW is in competition because they will not be getting my money now.

Also so wants Call of Duty as well as Fallout 4, so yeah I am hoping this is not a limited release as well. If so, oh well I am tired of paying $200 or around there for something we may not know how fun it will be to play.

    7. I'm not splitting! that's the basis for my Heresy army right there. i dont think they can get away with charging THAT much more than 100 quid though.....

    8. question: is there any gaming stores like EB: Electronics Boutique in Canada? if so why didn't you buy a pre-owned copy? i am fairly sure the key would still work, and if not it's not hard getting cracked copies of keys.

but fallout 3 dropped by $30+ dollars for me when i first bought it and it was a week out (past) from release.

i bought a pre-owned copy.....also own it twice on PC and PS3. both fallout 3 and NV. will likely do the same for fallout 4 as well.

i'd like the HH but fallout 4 doesn't require an opponent, 40k/30k does. FO4 represents more value for me personally.

  2. Also off topic, the only thing available on the US Gw lizardmen page is the war scroll pdf. Looks like we will find out soon if it's a repack or new models.

    1. my money is on a repack of a few kits they want to keep, alongside the tidewall individual parts, as well as (possibly?) some repacked khorne daemons, then heresy release(s?), and then back to AoS for some new lizardmen, at least thats what id LIKE to see

      Delete
    2. They don't need to repack Khorne Daemons - they already come with the circular bases, after all; I could see them simply running through the existing stock and then just doing circular bases in all Daemon kits going forward.

    4. Lizardmen? I don't know what you're talking about.

However, the Seraphon, which are daemons of light, shaped into the forms of lizards that walk like men, will be back soon in new boxes with round bases instead of square ones.

      Delete
    5. God fucking damnit, give square bases. I play 8th age of sigmar is the biggest scam ever.

    6. Rules that surley was developed in a lunch break. It just feels like they didn't give a damn. After playing a bunch of sigmar games. Also the sudden death chameleon shit. That's just silly.

      Delete
    7. But they're free, not much of a scam, is it?

I like it, if you play with decent people that aren't all about winning a game of toy soldiers, its a great game.

    8. it is awful. If it didn't have GW's name on it, it would be sitting on one of those free wargames rules websites being ignored.

I feel so sorry for everyone with a WHFB army. I am also annoyed that WHFB has been scrapped as I was about to build an End Times chaos army, mostly Beastmen. Just as well I didn't waste my money.

    9. Just go for ebay instead, or grab some old boxes in a lgs.
Pluss de Norske prisene dobbel charge MVA, det e inkludert i prisen men du må uansett betala dobbelt når tollen tar dei. Ikje verdt bryet, prøv heller Spillsjefen elns.

    10. Oh sorry, I must have imagined enjoying it then.

The fact that you were "just about to build a [WFB army]" is kind of half the point, the game wasn't getting people to play, people would think about it and then not pull the trigger. It needed something new and to reinvigorate the community which had stagnated.

AoS has done that, some people don't like it and thats fine, they're allowed to not enjoy it, they can go elsewhere or continue to play 8th.

The people I play with are either brand new to fantasy or collected it for ages without bothering to play any more. They're all having fun with it.

      Delete
    11. Good for you. Mind going back into the corner and actually playing it, rather than attacking the majority who don't? With how much I keep reading the few people who support that garbage claiming to play it, I wonder how actual games get in.

    13. I pulled the trigger during End Times because it generated a huge amount of interest in the store. It was good for a while. The people they pushed away from fantasy far outweigh the people they brought in at my store at least. Seems the same at other gaming stores in the area.

    14. The end times went in a very right direction at first. But hey...

    15. slow clap for people getting enjoyment from AOS.

but is your enjoyment worth more than mine? apparently it is......because you are gaming while i still and expectedly still have ZERO opponents (fantasy- 40k is a different group so different circumstances) so really i'd love to enjoy a game i spent as much as a luxury car/boat down payment. but it is what it is.

    10. Warhammer 2K Age of Incompetence, skirmish scale game simulating how a group of idiots mismanages a games company.

There is a mass battle version, where you play a board member trying to escape from a maze like HQ building while huge numbers of neckbeards and disgruntled veterans try to find and liquidate you.

  7. On another note, now that infiltration cadre burning dawn is out, well in some time zones, can anyone confirm if it has any cool rules for the models? I know mauler and others put out rough translations but I've seen an unboxing where the guy sounded very unimpressed, and I don't know enough about tau to know if it's cool changes, or if it's just restrictive and bad changes like what was in deathstorm

  8. On topic, just buying two fully loaded tactical squads, and the preators will be around £120 from FM. If it does include terminators, and dreads then it will be better value.

  11. sounds like something chaotic or heretical....so HH or some chaos....while i am skint (poor as expletive) now it's something i am after......just with AU prices....yeah not looking forward to the price....$250 standard is my guess. is it worth it? .......maybe.....if both sides are identical and have a plastic contemtor each.....well.....yeah.....it probably is....but if that cost and no x2 dreads......not really worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I think the rumor a while back (and in light of the burning dawn releases I definitely believe this) was that the first box they release was supposed to be just one side's worth of models, I think they are moving away from boxes targeted towards being split because they figure they lose sales from the people who only want one half. Of course, there still selling them for like the same price so I dunno how much better they expect it to get, but I guess using campaigns to put out what are essentially new battleforce boxes is kinda neat.
