It's time to talk about Casters within The Genesys Project who channel the mysterious energy from beyond reality and shape into Fantastic Powers capable of doing things..... ya know like ripping your head off, exploding you into a a fiery display or carnage, or doing wonderful things like bringing the dead back to life.

Today we are going to talk about some of the more Common types of Casters in the Genesys Project, because there are a bunch.



Wizardry
Lets start off with the more dangerous and often scary types, Wizardry. Wizards focus their studies to powers and as such are not restricted to how they take them. They are not required as most casters to take lesser powers and often jump right into taking greater powers where they can focus their Willpower and other abilities to making these greater powers the most deadly things imaginable.

Wizardry allows a caster to take powers from the Sphere of Twilight and is not limited to lesser powers or having them as a requirement. Wizards simply select Powers from the Sphere of Twilight they want to cast.

Channeling for Wizards is dangerous. They channel through their own bodies allowing them to use their Toughness to Channel, adding it in to their casting. Of course this can cause them to pass out, effectively removing them from the game if they fail when channeling all their toughness, but with using their bodies they are able to take spellcasting to a new and powerful level.


Priests: On the opposite ends of the spectrum we have Priests using their Faith to cast and channel powers. There have been many times in the past where I considered Priests to one, if not the the most powerful casters in the game. Instead of channeling like other casters a Priest has religious followers able to use their actions to further the casting of the powers. This is how they channel, and safely cast powers pushing the borders of their mortal threshold through faith.

Failures to casting for Priests disperses the energies and causes no harm to anyone.

Priests do have to select whether they are seeking powers from the Path of Light, Darkness, or from within the Twilight Realms restricting their powers to the Spheres of Influence their faith demands.



Druids: A type of Priest tied to the Twilight Realms which are the closest of the Spheres to Reality, they are able to cast their powers by drawing upon the land. How this works is that they can channel directly from nearby terrain pieces. Terrain Pieces of significance (have a possible objective marker in them) allow Druids to channel extra energy through them.




Occult: Cults and Sects of the Occult follow as much fervor as many religions and in that manner cast in very similar ways gaining abilities and powers within a Sphere of Influence. Here cultists can participate in the casting of powers and even increase the strength of spells. However a strong charismatic leader is often required to cast such powers granting bonuses to casting if a caster has a higher Command.
