Pics of the Week

This weeks Pics of the Week is a misc. group of pics that are left over from one file. I have not had the chance to use these, and saving them for other post didn't seem like something these might fit in the near future. I tend to save my Necron and Tau pics, as they seem to have a codex on the horizon, as well as Sisters of Battle.  So here are this weeks pics, enjoy.

Secret Specialist Game Release

The upcoming Secret Specialist Game release will not be Bloodbowl according to todays rumor. To be honest, this is from yesterday, however, I am still behind on releasing information.

So here is the rumor, please take with salt. It was a response to a question over in the Warseer forums.

Tyranid Wave Still Lurking Towards The Fall

This morning we hear once again about a Tyranid second wave in the mix. Its good, I really think getting out a second wave will help the tyranid line. Here the author of the rumor is also talking briefly about some additional rules, or possibly about a "Summer of Flyers" release.

Presence of Faeit - Haemonculi Covens, Incoming Necrons, and Personal Days

This week was a good one. We had the Haemonculi covens for Dark Eldar announced, which really was the highlight, but we also had a couple rumors for the Necrons, really pushing the idea that they are not far off.

Presence of Faeit is a weekly editorial by myself. I generally report during the week what is going on, and today is my day to comment on what exactly it is that I am thinking of.

C'tan- Dead Gods Enslaved as Necron Weapons of War

Excellent rumors hitting this morning about Necrons. The C'tan are enslaved shards of Dead Gods, captured and used as weapons of war. Hows that for great fluff. These things are customizable, and will be messing with us for years to come. They are expensive, but their rules can cover quite a bit.

These rumors are set up with the Original post via Badtaste first. I did, like always edit out none Necron rumor stuff. After the original post, someone spent the time to do a summary of what was said, so I posted it. I am not going to get into the BoK drama, you either like him or you don't, these are excellent rumors, and I appreciate them.

Dark Eldar Scale Comparisons

Well, this picture helps a ton. Gives us lots of insight on the scale of the Grotesque vs Wracks vs Talos/Cronos and Scourges. The Grotesque looks about the size I had anticipated, while I have not yet gotten to see a Talos in hand, but it appears to tower above all other models.

Is the Talos/ Cronos really standing that tall and far above normal models? Looks like we will need a raider to hide the dang thing.

On a personal note, things are a little short for me today, and possibly tomorrow. Family emergency.

The Battle of the Fang and Midnight on the Street of Knives

From the Black Library the Space Wolf Saga continues. The Battle of the Fang has already been up for pre-order, and is set for a release date of June 7th, which is now right around the corner. This is a stand alone novel, but is said to continue the feel of Propero Burns.

Info on Midnight on the Street of Knives is further down.

The Unspoken and Unused Gun. The Disintegrator

The Dark Eldar have plenty of ways to deal with hordes. In fact they have some great ones. The Splinter Cannon for instance is an excellent gun. On a vehicle it is a defensive weapon, and it is a heavy 6 or assault 4. Those are big numbers. It also has a 36" range. Nothing new here, they are all the rage.

Grotesques, Razorwings, Wracks, and Haemonculi are Here (now available)

Its here. Everything listed is now up for pre-order to be released June 18th. These of course are already on my list go get. However, have you taken the time to calculate how much one unit of Grotesques will cost? lol. Its kind of funnny. Regardless, I will end up getting them, even though I was hoping for them in packs of three.

I am also disspointed that the Haemonculi doesnt say it comes with more options. Where's the Arcane Wargear? Here is the link Games Workshop Advance Orders

Razorwing- $41.25
Wracks- $33.00
Grotesque- $20.75
Haemonculi- $18.25

Of course there are pics. Check em out

As if On Que, Tyranid Rumors

You asked if Tyranids had anything in the rumor mill, and almost immediately this hit. I was holding it to see if more information would unfold, but alas, nada.

So here is a quick one on just when we might see something Tyranid.

Leaked Necron Pages?

These images supposedly from a leaked playtest codex are making the rounds. There are two of them actually, but the second one, which I am going to post at the very end of this article has definitely been identified as being from a fan made codex a couple years back. The other is still unknown.

2nd Half of 2011 Release Schedule

I do these every once in a while, just to keep people up to date on what the latest is for upcoming releases. We are not yet half way through the year, although we already know what is coming in June already, so we might as well get on with the second half.

Just for those that do not remember what we had posted here at the beginning of the year, I turn your attention to the following 2011 New Years post. Here. Not too bad so far. I call that accurate enough in my books.

Pics of the Week

Todays artwork features yet another artist that works online in our Warhammer Community. His work, especially pics that capture the heat of battle, are fantastic to say the least.

We really need no introduction, here is artwork by Arkurion for this weeks, Pics of the Week.

"You wanted to see what I had in the works" Dark Eldar Army Pics (updated)

Here are some pics that I have been promising of my own Dark Eldar force. All of it is a work in progress, but you can see that I have made considerable gains. I know you wanted to see more of it all together, however I just haven't had the time to get all that done.

I took some better pics this morning using natural daylight. You can see the model much better.

Games Workshop Australia Responds

Here is a response to many of the concerns players in Australia are having. It may not be the response that you are looking for, but it is a response. I know there are issues right now with the hobby in Australia, and I hope there is some resolution. On the bright side, I did hear that Wayland Games has figured a way around the embargo. For that we shall have to wait and see.

I am starting to get into the epic fail pics. There are just so many out there. I apologize for the swear on the pic for you young viewers out there, but I just couldnt pass up on the train wreck.

Citadel Finecast- The Announcement

Here is the Official Citadel Finecast Announcement. I'll just let you read it, I've only atm read it briefly. Of course I have also put up a couple of the 40k related pics.

Leaked Pics of Grotesques and Wracks! More Finecast Pics just added

Yea, thats right, take a look at these. I have a feeling these are resin, but I don't know atm. I will get more information to you as I get it.

More leaked pics below. The above pics were via a source in my inbox, and below are additional pics from The Death Angel.

Presence of Faeit- The End of Days, Citadel Finecast

This was probably the most negative week in blogging history, or at least mine. With price increases, changes in the way re-sellers can sell GW products, and attempting to reign in the rumor mill, the week was mostly a bust. The only positive thing I could dig out was some of the Haemonculi coven models that might be on their way soon. Even my game play was crap. Some weeks I am happy are over.

Presence of Faeit is a weekly editorial by myself. I generally report during the week what is going on, and today is my day to comment on what exactly it is that I am thinking of.

The Final Word on Rumor Control

The rumor policy Games Workshop is pushing ahead on with their store managers is pretty much set in stone. We all know how bad the Razorwing Jetfighter leaks were. Or more accurately, how ill timed they were. Everyone was talking about the Razorwing, when we should of been talking exclusively about the Talos/Cronos and Scourges. It took the momentum out of that wave.

Are you still here? The End of the World.

Well, according to broadcaster Harold Camping, I must be a sinner. The end of the world here in my small part is passing as I am writing. According to his prophecy, Judgement Day is today at 6pm. The next 5 months are supposed to be a period of catastrophes before the world comes to end in October. Today is supposed to be marked by violent earthquakes with the coming of Jesus, and the rapture.............

Did I miss it?

Dark Eldar Classified Box for Citadel Finecast Unveiled?

If there is any models that I have been waiting for it was one of these. This was dug up from forum conversation and is enough for me to get excited about what is on its way. We should be expecting to hear something official on this very very soon, as we are only a couple days away from more official news.

Games Workshop Answers- Sometimes There is No Excuse

The CEO Mark Wells of Games Workshop has posted a response to the people that have contacted them about the recent turn of events, primarily the european re-sellers not being able to sell overseas.

While this is  a couple days old now, I figured posting this would add a little closure to the subject. OK, It wont for most people that really are angry, but for the past couple days I had better stuff to talk about, like my aunt Ruth's Dentures. It is Saturday morning, and I haven't had my coffee yet, so the post is finally going to get posted while I figure out which way is up.

Citadel Finecast "The First Wave"

This just in from my inbox this morning. Games Workshop really did not give us the lowdown on what is going to be happening with the first wave. So here is some more information.

I for one, cannot wait after reading this, to find out what the hidden releases will be, especially for my dark eldar. I can guess though. It is either a Wrack or a Grotesque that is being released alongside the Haemonculi.

Space Marine Assault Armour "Crusade MkII" and "Heresy MKV"

Today Forgeworld has released a new set of assault armours for your Space Marines. They are nice models, and I love the jump packs. They are available now.  Here is the link to Forgeworld

Dark Eldar Concept Sketches with Jes Goodwin - Venom and Scourges

I always love to get ahold of the concept sketches for the Dark Eldar. Quite possibly the other races as well, but even more when it comes down to what went into Jes Goodwins designs for the Dark Eldar range.

The Razorwing Jetfighter Leak vs New GW Rumor Policy

Cause and effect. This really gives probable cause. It also defines it. Something like this really defines why the announcement to limit advance information to the GW store managers happened. The new rumor control policy was simply due to a mistake a GW manager made.

Phil Kelly Talks Dark Eldar

Phil Kelly's Dark Eldar look nice. I am not so sure about the orange, but it does help with ideas and concepts (at least me). So I decided to post up on pics and what he had to say about his Dark Eldar.

Pricing, Resin, and Rumor Control

I have been avoiding the negative side of these rumors and announcements like the plague. I do not like to over indulge in negative posts. I enjoy my hobby, do not believe that Games Workshop is actively working against the hobby, or hates us so. This often puts me into a place where I do not want to post a few things that I find, so I skip over them, or try and handle them in my end of the week editorial.

Lately we have seen Games Workshop stop Northern European companies from selling their reduced priced products to other countries. We have seen resin models with a price hike, and now the latest rumor control policy that limits GW managers from getting anything. All of this, and probably more, has led to quite a bit of frustration, and to be blunt, is pissing people off.

Games Workshop New Rumor Control Policy

Apparently Games Workshop is working hard to silence the rumor mongers out there. They have supposedly put up a new rumor control policy and it involves the guy pictured above. Just joking on the pic, but GW is attempting to control the rumor mill. Check out the following rumor below.

Pics of the Week

This week, I had to be quick. No worries though, because I have an excellent set of pics this week that were on standby.

Pics of the Week is something I do weekly every Tuesday, digging deep into my archive files to find some of the pics that I love to collect. 40k artwork is something that I find inspiring, and it helps me stay interested and focused with my own armies, as these artist bring the 40k universe alive.

Clear Pic of the New Resin Haemonculi, and Citadel Finecast Poster

I found a much clearer pic of the Haemonculi this morning, as well as a pic of the new Citadel Finecast Poster. Still nothing as we wait for the upcoming  May 23rd full announcement. I am hoping that the first wave will be our  Resin Haemonculi  alongside Wracks and Grotesques coming up for pre-orders on the 28th. Since May 28th is the first day the resin Citadel Finecast models will be available.

New Resin Haemonculi Pic Found.

This could be the start of what we are waiting for, the Haemonculi coven releases for the Dark Eldar. This pic is small, and blurry, but it is definetly a Haemonculi. I just love it when we get lousy blurry images. Better than nothing though.

Now give me some shots of a Grotesque and you'll make my day.

It's Officially Official. Citadel Finecast

Its Official, this is the announcement that we are moving from metal to resin. Apparently though, we have to wait for the full announcement until May 28th. Kind of funny. Just make the announcement and lets move on, otherwise it gives far too much time for people to get frustrated with this move.

Metal to Resin Confirmed- "Citadel Finecast"

Or was that No Announcement Yet. May 28th many kits are moving to what is being called "Citadel Fine Cast"= Resin. Thus far no official announcement that I can dig up, so the details are still a little thin. The prices are also in pounds, not dollars. I will find something later when it is released on this.

Its Monday morning, so lets get directly to what is going on.

Presence of Faeit- A Grain of Salt, Dark Eldar Pics and Leaks

Wednessday we had finally gotten the big bang, Dark Eldar pre-releases. This pretty much dominated my Warhammer 40k week, however other rumors came and went. The highly unpopular Sisters of Battle rumors pushing them into a White Dwarf pdf army, and we had Games Workshop AU deliver some answers to the Grey Knights codex.

Presence of Faeit is a weekly editorial by myself. I generally report during the week what is going on, and today is my day to comment on what exactly it is that I am thinking of.

Sunday Morning Rumors- Metal to Resin, Sisters, and Tyranid Wave 2

It is a rather slow and wet Sunday morning. It would be nice if the weather could grant us a few dry days in a row up here in the Pacific Northwest. The following rumors are pretty brief. The continuing battle of rumors that we are going to see a switch from metal to resin has become rather dull, kind of like the weather lately.

So lets just get this morning rumor in, so we can move on with our day. There is after all a Tyranid element to it. To be honest, I find the picture much more exciting than this set of rumors this morning.

Razorwing Release Date Leaked. More Pics as well

The official date for the release of the Razorwing Jetfighter is June 18th. This comes from a set of handouts to Games Workshop stores, with suggestions on how to promote new products. The pics are nice, especially the pic below, because it shows us the army all together. This way you can judge the size of the Razorwing and other models together. I'm not sure if this is really a leak, since the information was released to GW stores, but since it fell into the communities hands I stuck with the title leak.

No signs yet of anything else. Nothing past June 18th is known. The Razowing Jetfighter will probably come up for pre-order earlier. The words in the blue boxes that did not make the pics when I copied them, they give release dates. So we have Scourges, Talos/ Cronos, and Venoms on June 4th, and the Razorwing on June 18th.

Back Online with Necron Lord Rumors.

It seems blogspot had one of its worst outages in years. In fact, I think I might of lost a post on Talos/Cronos sketches and Designs. Regardless, I have more rumors, so I will just move on, instead of resurrecting the previous lost post. Who knows, they may even recover it.

Necron Lords: Bok yesterday posted up some rumors, and Madcowcrazy translated them into something easier to read. Also included is a confirmation bit on the Warsythe by yakface. They are pretty good rumors, and sound decent, however, they are still rumors, so take with a grain of salt.

Talos and Cronos Design Sketches

The new Talos and Cronos are excellent models. I kind of wish I did not have old ones to use, even so, I will eventually break down and get the new ones. Today's GW release was sketches and information about Jes Goodwin's design on the Talos Pain Engine and the Cronos Parasite Engine. You can make either one out of the same box.

Razorwing Jetfighter Leaked Pics!

So Not only do we get wonderful pics of our early June release. Here is something for us that will be released probably later in the month. Check em out. I am pretty sure they are Razorwing Jetfighters. So more coming in June for Dark Eldar. And yes we Dark Eldar players have the best model range in 40k

Dark Eldar Next Wave Up for Pre-Order- Pics and LInk

We knew today was going to be the day. I had thought it was a seperate kit. I was wrong. Just too much info coming too fast. Woot!. Take a look below. They look wonderful. These are set for release on the June 4th and are up for pre-order today.

The Battleforce available contains 10 Dark Eldar Kabalite Warriors, 10 Dark Eldar Wyches, 3 Reaver Jetbikes and 1 Dark Eldar Raider and is an excellent price for what we are getting.

Sisters of Battle- A White Dwarf / Online PDF Release

The latest rumor floating around is that the Sisters of Battle will not be a standard codex release. Personally I find it hard to beleive, but it is possible. I am not going to get into any speculation of this rumor, and instead just get right down into it.

Pics of the Week- Beckjann "Welcome to Commorragh"

This week's Pics of the Week we have a treat for all you Dark Eldar fans. Beckjann is an Canadian artist with a love for Dark Eldar. His page on Deviant Art is named appropriately Welcome to Commorragh, and it can be found by following the link. While I picked out some of my favorites for the post, it is worthwhile checking out more of his work.

I enjoy finding artist that create exceptional artwork on just about any topic, but to find one with a love for Dark Eldar, definetly grabs my attention. Enjoy.

Dark Eldar Warriors and Asdrubael Vect - WIP

Here are some of the models I am working on. The center one is my Asdrubael Vect. Yes the sceptor needs to be replaced with something a little more dark eldarish. Over-all though I am starting to like the looks of my new army. My pictures are not the best, but its what I have atm.

The warriors are de-pointed old 3rd edition warriors, and the Vect is one recovered from my old custom Dais of Destruction that was custom built over 10 years ago. I beleive Vect comes from a fantasy model somewhere, probably Dark Elves. Color wise, its a dark blue, that in non-proper lighting looks almost black.

Dark Eldar Reserve Tactica- Why Reserve?

Dark Eldar forces are like paper. Brittle paper. Not only are they brittle, their point cost is expensive. I mean really how long can you expect your Dark Eldar to survive head on heavy fire and still win the game without getting decimated.

The answer is, you cant. Dark Eldar work best when they can strike hard and fast. It is after all why we have so much speed on our side. The longer we stay on the table vs a good opponent with a good list, the worse off we are.

Grey Knights Rules Questions Answered by GW

There are many questions that came with the Grey Knight Codex. Can a shunt teleport be used as a scouting move? Does the Crucible of Malediction affect Grey Knight Vehicles? Without a FAQ, these answers are all we got. They come from Games Workshop Hobby Service Center-AU. Even though this is from GW, it is by no means an official FAQ.

I saw this earlier today from Grey Knights by Xethik, and it comes from Bolter and Chainsword. For convience, the entire emails are shown below. Until an FAQ comes out, this is some of the best information you can get.

Presence of Faeit- Paint, Black Boxes, and Those Necrons are Back

This was an interesting week with a full set of fantastic Necron rumors that seem to conflict in many ways with all the other compilations we have been recieving so far. With seperate confirmations on the new rumors, I am prone to beleive the new set of rumors are much more accurate. This leaves old sets of rumors either out of date, just not as accurate, or misinformed.

Presence of Faeit is a weekly editorial by myself. I generally report during the week what is going on, and today is my day to comment on what exactly it is that I am thinking of.

Dark Eldar Black Box to Arrive in Stores Friday

The latest is that the two upcoming Dark Releases, the first on June 4th, the second June 24th, will have a black box that will arrive on 13th. At least in the UK. Rumored contents are Scourges, Talos/ Cronos, and a flyer (probably the Razorwing Jetfighter). Also on the rumor front, announcments of releases/ pre-orders are generally said to fall on the Wednessday following a release weekend. Tomb Kings were released.

The Pic is a scratch built, so don't get too excited.

Chimera Conversion- Rapid Response Wheeled Kits

Normally I stay away from kits from elsewhere. This one however turned my head a little. Wheel kits for a Chimera are pretty cool. While I do not have any thoughts of tearing apart my Chimeras, a table full of these would look pretty nice.

These are a new release by Chapterhouse Studios. Whether or not you like the company, this one is a pretty good idea. More than likely I would simply head on down to the hobby store and find some conversion parts, but not everyone would. The sunken wheel on the front tire is probably just from poor assembly, but who knows, I would find out before ordering any.

Salamander Shoulder Pads, and Eldar Corsair Heavy Weapons.

New from Forgeworld today are two new releases. I know there are tons of Vulcan marine players out there, his popularity never dies. The shoulder pads are available now while the Corsair Heavy Weapons upgrade pack is now availalbe for pre-order to be shipped out on the week commencing May 23rd.
