Presence of Faeit: Giveaways and a Look Ahead
There are only a few more days before Christmas, and already the house is being decorated and everything masterfully put in its proper place by my wife for Holiday Gatherings. Its this time of year that we tend to look not only ahead into the next year, but also behind us.
Please remember that Presence of Faeit is an Editorial.
Faeit 212 Christmas Giveaway
Normally this is not something I do, as I tend to stick to news and rumors. However this year for Christmas I am going to do a giveaway of sorts, starting tomorrow morning at 7:00am PST. My intentions are to do three contests, that you as readers, only need to leave a comment on the giveaway article to participate.
So over the next couple days, just jump in and leave a comment on the 7am giveaway article. While I am planning 3 of them, only two are set in stone right now, and the third will be figured out on Monday.
The winners for all three will be announced on Christmas morning. Just something a little extra for you under the Christmas Tree this year.
Look Ahead, and Back.
Last year at this time, things were a little crazy. Escalation and Stronghold Assault were launched, adding Lords of War and more fortifications to standard 40k. To top that off, Games Workshop started releasing dataslates and battlescrolls for both Warhammer 40k and Fantasy. It was a crazy time, and those few changes changed the landscape for our games drastically.
This year, Games Workshop has toned down its Advent Calendar, which is really too bad, but after last years drama, I can see why.
A lot has changed since then, and rumors are much harder to come by now, releases are much faster, and as we move into 7th edition many of the codices are being toned down in what appears to be a restructuring to balance the game more.
This year its quite obvious that older codices will start seeing updates to bring 6th edition codices in line with their 7th edition counterparts. This means Lords of War updates, bringing the complexity of army or unit rules back into the standard game mechanics (or what some are calling nerfing, or dumbed down). I think we can expect Chaos Marines to be in the mix, and the first bat will most likely smack down Heldrakes, and hopefully prop up Chaos Marine Squads
Necrons are obviously next, and there is hope out here in the hobby that the Sister's of Battle, or Adeptus Sororitas will see a codex release early this year. If this were to happen it would require a major release, as its expected that plastics would be released along side the new codex to replace a very old and dated model line.
