The Looted Wagon Exclusive Controversy

According to what we have seen for this weekends pre-orders, there is a new controversy about the new Looted Wagons that are listed as White Dwarf exclusive. The controversy is that the Looted Wagon according the use of the word Exclusive on the White Dwarf cover leaks, is going to be a White Dwarf release only, and rumors have it not being in the codex.

The problem with this is not a unit that has rules in the White Dwarf exclusively, its that the unit was in the previous codex. This gives the impression that it was removed, and planned to be a White Dwarf release only to sell more magazine during the release of Orks.

Its also quite possible that the vehicle was not going to make the codex to begin with, simply because they cannot sell a model that is meant to be converted from other vehicles. (I do have an easy solution for that, and its called an upgrade conversion kit with lots of fun bits and gun options).

I know that as a hobbyist, I love the idea of seeing rules like in the 3rd edition days of old. Rules released as chapter approved in the White Dwarf. I had many of these, and still do for certain armies that I enjoyed. This is the way to release exclusive rules for the game, additional rules like new characters for armies. One a month would just be an awesome release even if there was no model for it. This is what I would expect out of the White Dwarf.

So now we get back to Exclusive White Dwarf entries that previously were in the codex. Assuming that this is the case (because we have not had an official release, just leaked images), what do you think of this?

This is indeed an issue and a possible look ahead into future releases. Will unit entries that do not make new codex releases, get White Dwarf Exclusive rules release?
