Faeit's Rumor Tarot: The Release Schedule and Dark Elves

No, the Dark Elves have not been eaten by the Tyranids. Even though there is very little out there in leaks, Dark Elves are still coming. So maybe the bugs just ate the leaks? This week we heard a lot of rumors, delving into release schedules, Dark Elves, Tyranids, and even the Imperial Guard.

"Tau do that better".
-Repeating Quote from last night's game. Thanks for the game Brian

Each week, Faeit's Rumor Tarot will take a look at what rumors came up among the myriad of games that were covered here on Faeit 212. On occasion I will be breaking any weekend developments that were discovered or revealed, so keep a watch out, for on the Faeit's Tarot, you never know what secrets may be revealed. If you think you may have missed something, here is your chance to catch up.

Dark Elves

There has been a lot of Dark Elves information flowing in this week, and if you are interested in seeing a compilation of rumors from the past several weeks, just follow the link. Dark Elf Compilation.

The biggest thing to hit this week, was that it looks like we might be having a 2 month release for Dark Elves. Several strong sources have claimed this, and Dark Elves are getting an extreme makeover. Many of the models have been seen, and the compilation link and the Cauldron of Blood below reveal that this is going to be a huge release. (will some of these models make my Dark Eldar happy?).

The executioner swords look similar but obviously are improved with the CAD design.
The Black Guard halberds look a bit beefier in the blade part.
There are designs on the trimming and edges of some of the armor for the Black Guard and Executioners

I spoke to a GW manager today and he said he wont know anything about the boxes officially until next week, BUT HE HAS SEEN THE DARK ELF ARMY BOOK COVER. So this is happening for sure at least. I know that's no surprise to us, but it was nice to get a confirmation.
He says the cover is very similar to the High Elf army book cover, except with a Dark Elf there instead. I didnt press him on it as to be honest, it's hardly relevant at this stage, but we know for sure this is all coming in October for sure

via Daigaron on Warseer **
One of the resellers in my country put this price list up in their news section:
Plastic Dark Elf Warrior Box £30
PLastic Dark Riders/Warlocks £25
Plastic Blackguard/Executioners £30
Plastic Coldone Chariot/Scroungerunner £25
Plastic Cauldron of Blood/Blood Throne £50
Plastic Hydra/Kraken £50
Plastic Witch Elf box £30

GW prices might be higher, since reseller usually discount their stuff, and there are alot of stuff missing (like the army book for example), so this might be just guesswork by them based on rumours.

Imperial Guard

The Imperial Guard look like a March release for next year, and is the release that I am most looking forward to in the viable future. These come from what looks like various rumor sources reporting in to Larry over at Bols.

via Bell of Lost Souls (variable rating)
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2013/09/imperial-guard-whispers.html
These rumors come to us in multiple sets, and we have ordered them from most trustworthy to least based on a variety of "truthifying methods":

The Probable stuff: ***
IG Veterans/Stormtroopers (plastic 5-man box)
Hydra
Artillery combo-kit
Roughriders (new plastic box)

The Possible stuff: **
IG Regiment Doctrines: Each Regiment (Cadian, Catachan, etc...)has doctrines, similar to SM Chapter tactics. Examples listed were:
Cadians - may issue 2 orders to a unit
Catachans - Move-thru-cover, and Jungle Fighter (???)

Thunderbolt flyer: Very heavy armor, but cannot jink.

The Salt-mine *
Imperial Robots - 2 new robots, requiring an Admech handler/enginseer.

Knight Paladin - Taller than riptide, not as tall as Wraithknight. Vanquisher cannon and Uber-chainsword are standard load out. May upgrade to Punisher Cannon, Uber-Fist with Inferno Flamers

Specialists Games

Battlefleet Gothic anyone? Of course this is not happening anytime soon, as these rumors have this all a full year out before we see anything. Epic Armageddon looks to be first on the list.

via Tim the Thief on Faeit 212 ***
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2013/09/epic-armegeddon-to-return-in-2014-and.html
GW will bring back Specialist Games gradually with beginning in the 3th Quarter 2014.
-First Game will be Epic in July or August 2014
-There will be no individual model Boxes or Blister, only Game Sets and possibly "Expansions"
-Sets remain permanent in assortment

-Epic Game Set might feature  Space Marines vs. Orks, there will be Sets for Imperial Guard, Eldar and Chaos

Supplements and New Releases

via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 ****
http://natfka.blogspot.com/2013/09/supplement-releases-and-new-units-with.html
Codexes aren't slowing down, but supplements are ramping up and will see model releases coinciding with them.

Either redoes of old kits (Khorne Berserkers for example), and then new kits entirely.

Rules in the boxes are a very likely reality for these new kits to make the supplement not a required purchase.  I realize that this goes against the Internets opinion of GW, but they are not trying to make supplements mandatory purchases, but exactly what they are: supplements.

Release Schedules

Release schedules are now showing Tyranids moved to January, and a lot of sources have confirmed this. Its almost like an inter-company announcement was just released the way the information flowed.

So Dark Elves for 2 months, Tyranids in January, Imperial Guard in March, and probably Orks beyond that. Lots of supplements in the though, as they get ramped up for production in 2014.

- NO Mystery-Box
- Dark Elves will be spread over 2 months (October + November) because all but 3 boxes will be remade. It’s going to be the largest release this year and will be followed by some events in the GW Games Stores.
- Tyranids are delayed till January (It was mentioned that they always were to be released in January but i’m not able to proof that)
- Supplements will not be released more than one per month but will see a regularly release every month next year like the codices were this year and will indeed have new model waves.

- the boxes for the Christmas packs will include just valuable units. It’s questionable what this means but I guess they want to sell them this time and therefore go with common units/-combinations

People, Tyranids are not pushed back, they have always been slated for January.
Oct: Dark Elves
Nov: Holiday Releases(boxed army type stuff)
Dec: Hobbit
Jan: Tyranids
Feb: Dwarfs

March: IG

via an Anonymous Source on Faeit 212****
This is me confirming Tyranids in January.
Expect a supplement and/or warzone in November though that involves Tyranids. Ala Ultramarines 3rd Company (Tyranic War Veterans), or Warzone detailing a war against Tyranids.

via an unusual anonymous source on Faeit 212 ****

Tyranids in January I'm 100% certain it's true, though, and the only thing that could change it would be GW changing their plans at the last minute.

No Rumors Beyond this Point
Natfka's Ratings.
Note that this week I have put a Natfka's rating out, this will appear on the weekly roundup here on the Rumor Tarot only. I have been messing with it now for a couple weeks by placing a star next to the rumor on the round up, but this week, I am going a step further.

I am going to rate what I personally think of the rumor (not the source). This is based off of behind the scenes knowledge, what different sources are saying, and general logic and guesswork. It goes like this.

5 Stars. If its got a 5 star rating, I personally have probably seen the release information. (think Natfka has seen this stuff personally)

4 Stars is a very reliable rumor, and comes from someone I generally know to be in a good place, or the rumors match up well. These are not facts!, These are still rumors, and even great sources can have some information wrong on occasion. (think hastings-like, or close to that)

3 Stars, is a decent rumor. Should be looked at with some truth in it. An average rumor (most will fall here). Rumor based off of real information, discussion, or we do not know where it falls. (Like I said, most will fall here, and this is the baseline.)

2 stars. Most likely speculation, but sound OK. Every once in a while these have something (think Natfka doesn't really think this is happening, but ya never know)

1 Star. Way out in left field, and I feel that these are probably just wild speculation or made up. (think whoa, where the hell did this come from, and generally posted up because its fun, or Natfka was bored)

If for some reason this does not work out, creates drama on the site, or with sources, this system will go away. These are just my own interpretations of what what I read, which are much more accurate after I have had my coffee.
