Lizardmen Army Book. Have Some Questions?


Of course the book always gets somewhere early, and because of that its fantastic when we receive an offer for someone to answer some questions.


Just a heads up, I am a little slower to respond and get posts up while on vacation, so there will be a little delay in getting questions answered, my there is a big delay in communications.

Please be patient while and keep the questions to one per comment. By all means if you know the answers to the question, go ahead and jump in. Above all else, be courteous to those answering the questions.

I was fortunate enough to get my lizardmen army book today, and I wanted to offer up my services to do a QnA for the site. Obviously the book comes out in a day or so, so maybe it isn't worth the time, but figured I'd check in anyways.

If you personally have any questions, feel free to ask!

In general, here are my main take aways:
- most characters got a significant cost reduction, despite stat lines and rules remaining largely unchanged
- Mazdamundi increased in cost to 720
- Slaan are not as powerful as they were; still amazing casters, easily the best in whfb, but lost cupped hands and rumination. changes to disciplines are as follows:
- only lore master of high magic, not any lore you choose
- can get all 8 sig spells like high elf character
- can save a single D6 from dispel pool to use in your own magic phase
- can be ethereal but also becomes unstable
- can +/- 1 on miscast table
- can reroll first failed dispel each turn
- can channel with 3 dice
- can have terror
- can roll D6 for each lost wound, on 6 regain wound
- roll a D3 each turn, Mage priest has magical resistance D3
- no longer get free discipline on Slaan, but disciplines are cheaper - range from 20 to 60 pts
- salamanders went up slightly
- razordon down slightly
- EotG works the same way
- stegadon and ancient steg went down in points
- core and special units look unchanged in both stats and points, though don't have old army book to compare to atm
- bastiladon sun engine seems better than expected- all units within 6" get +1 initiative, and it can fire it's bound spell - does anywhere from D3 S3 hits to 2D6 S6 hits based on special chart
- bastiladon has 2+ scaly skin
- bastiladon sotek ark is range D6", each unit even in combat takes 2D6 S2 hits
