The Defence of Ryza adds loads of new rules to your games, including the ability to create your own bespoke Titan Legion. It also features rules for a number of Legios from the Horus Heresy narrative – and today we’re taking a look at a few of them.*

Legio Honorum (Death Bolts)

A young Legio by the standards of the Adeptus Titanicus, the Death Bolts quickly gained a reputation as tireless crusaders. When the Horus Heresy began, they turned their wrath on the traitors, hunting them across the stars. Their penchant for striding forward with their faces to the enemy is represented by a Legio Trait that rewards them for doing just that.

Legio Osedax (The Cockatrices)

The forge world Phaeton, home of the Legio Osedax, was an early target for the Dark Mechanicum, and much of the Legio’s Titans were destroyed in the assault. The survivors were reborn in the fires of war, and used their losses to fuel their desire for vengeance. During games, if a Legio Osedax Titan suffers Catastrophic Damage, you can use a Legio Specific Stratagem to take retaliatory shots with the rest of your battlegroup.

Legio Magna (Flaming Skulls)

Frequent allies of the Sons of Horus and Word Bearers, the Flaming Skulls were among the first Titan Legions to renounce the Emperor and join the Warmaster. They favour headlong attacks, even at the risk of leaving their flanks exposed. This single-minded focus is fittingly represented by their Spearhead Assault Stratagem.

Legio Vulturum (Gore Crows)

Hailing from the mysterious forge world of Xana II, little is known about the Gore Crows beyond their merciless nature, and that their Titans are often outfitted with experimental technology. Your choice of Personal Traits for a Legio Vulturum Princeps Seniores reflects these features of the Legio.
These new Legios from The Defence of Ryza offer you a host of tactical options for your games of Adeptus Titanicus – especially combined with the maniples and allegiance abilities in the book.
