Getting The Lore- 1-week opportunity to pick up older Digital Books

If you missed some lore and want something to read during the lockdown there is an opportunity now to pick up some older books for the stories within. Not a bad idea for digital versions.

Of course something like these should be available all the time digitally in my opinion. They don't take up any shelf space after all.

With the Psychic Awakening sweeping across the galaxy, the story of the Warhammer 40,000 universe continues to grow and evolve. But did you know that many of the events across the newer campaign books grew out of older lore – the Warhammer 40,000 Studio has been setting this up for a long, long time!

Among the campaigns that brought the galaxy to where it is now are Sanctus Reach and War Zone: Damocles – and for one week only, you can get the digital editions of both – separately or in one-click bundles – at a one-off special price! Each of these books contains tons of background and artwork, as well as rules designed for an older version of Warhammer 40,000 which aren’t compatible with the current edition – so just ignore those and let’s look at the stories!

The two books of the Sanctus Reach tell the story of The Red Waaagh! This massive greenskin horde falls upon the world of Alaric Prime in search of a good fight – and they get it! Alaric Prime is a Knight world, defended not only by armoured war engines, but a large contingent of the Astra Militarum.

The first book, aptly titled The Red Waaagh!, details the early stages of the war as the Orks land on Alaric Prime and battle mighty Knights and their Cadian allies. Of course, there’s also a hefty dose of greenskin infighting as an ambitious Mekboy tries to take over the Waaagh! From Warboss Grukk.

In the second volume, The Hour of the Wolf, the Space Wolves arrive to deliver the killing blow to the greenskins. Led by Logan Grimnar and Ragnar Blackmane, the sons of Russ join the fray and the battles get ever fiercer and bloodier – to the point that the veil tears and Daemonic hosts of Khorne are unleashed! Space Wolves vs Orks vs Daemons vs… you get the idea. It’s a thrilling story full of Fenrisian heroics, noble sacrifices and fascinating mysteries.

Sanctus Reach links to the Psychic Awakening as it sets up the sheer might of the Ork Waaagh!s falling upon the Imperium. Warboss Grukk’s mighty host is but a vanguard of something far worse to come, and a warning that the Imperium would have done well to heed…

You can download both Sanctus Reach books right now, or grab a bundle which gets you both in a single click. If you want to read even more from this war, you can also pick up an anthology of Black Library stories set on Alaric Prime and beyond, showcasing heroic deeds of the Space Wolves, sinister assassinations and some hilarious infighting among the Ork horde.

The Damocles Gulf, a region on the border of the T’au Empire and the Imperium of Man, has long seen wars between the Emperor’s forces and the xenos. In the War Zone: Damocles books, this kicked off in a BIG way as the T’au Empire’s Third Sphere Expansion took numerous human worlds in the region and claimed them in the name of the Greater Good.

Kauyon is set on the world of Prefectia, where Commander Shadowsun leads the Fire caste in a war of conquest. Prefectia has vast untapped reserves of geoelectric power that will help aid the T’au expansion – but the Imperium won’t give them up without a fight. The Raven Guard and White Scars arrive to liberate the world, but soon discover that Shadowsun is more than a match for them as they fall into the patient hunter’s carefully laid traps.

In Mont’ka, the Imperium seeks revenge, attacking the former Imperial world Agrellan – now the T’au Empire colony of Mu’gulath Bay – in force. Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Imperial Knights and even sinister Assassins attack, and only the return of the exiled Commander Farsight saves the T’au Empire’s commanders from disaster. This book looks deeply at the relationship between Farsight and Shadowsun, and how they each view the Ethereals – and it has a shocking twist for any fans of the T’au Empire. Prepare as well for a truly awesome showdown between the Eight and a kill team from the Officio Assassinorum!

The end of this saga sets up the T’au Empire for its next expansions, which are explored in Psychic Awakening: The Greater Good, making it an essential read for anyone who wants to explore what led the xenos to their current position in the Warhammer 40,000 story. Download both eBooks now, or grab the bundle to get both with no fuss.
