Legion Glaive Not for Apocalypse

The Legion Glaive is not really suitable for 40k or normal Apocalypse 40k games according to the latest from Forgeworld. This is taken directly from a reader here on Faeit 212, who was gracious enough to share this bit of news with us.

Games Workshop's Financial Reports

Yesterday Games Workshop's financials came out, and overall they look rather healthy. It does look like there was some reduction in cash flow, but overall the profits were up from the previous report. (I will not pretend to be able to read the fine lines of the report). So here are the links where you can read them yourself, and people more qualified than myself can comment.

New Digital Additions

Games Workshop has gone crazy digitally. I tend to miss a lot of these small digital releases, and every so often spend a little bit of time digging through all the ones I missed, like the Librarians and Volcano Cannons.

Army Builder Licensing Changes

I am a heavy Army Builder user, although my current license has been out of date now for some time. One of the things that has stopped me from picking it up again, is having to renew it at some point in the future. Well, changes are afoot, and now that is not an issue.

The only thing for me now.... will Games Workshop do an List Builder anytime soon?

Release Schedule for Warhammer 40k

There is so much on our plate that it is time to really dig in and take a look at the 40k release schedule and see just what it is that we will be looking at over the next 6+ months.

Tau Mercenaries and The Expanded Empire.

This last week we had been talking a lot about Tau Mercenaries which is based off of Kroot and possibly Vespid (unclear still at the moment). Then yesterday we had a very reliable source kick in and inform us that yes, Tau Mercenaries are in the line up, and that yes, another supplement beyond even that for Tau.

The Fallen Codex Supplement: Announced!!!!!

There were rumors that Cypher was originally going to be part of the Dark Vengeance box set, and was dropped. If that was the case, rules and likely a model was already under way. Now, we have word that a codex author has just mentioned a supplement for the Fallen.

Digital Rulebook is Now Available

The Digital Warhammer 40k Rulebook is now available on several platform, including tablets, eReaders including Android, Kindle and iBooks. This is very nice, and I will probably pick this up for my iphone. Yes, I know that will mean I own three rulebooks, but having it on a digital platform is just nice and convenient. One of the best features for myself personally...... it will contain the current erratas and FAQ's.

Presence of Faeit: Helldorado, Space Marines

Its been a long week, and I have one more day to relax before I hit the road again. So yes, I have been out in the woods earlier in the week, and Tuesday morning I hit the road again, this time to Edmonton, Alberta.

Presence of Faeit is my weekly editorial, where I go beyond the news and rumors, and discuss what ever it is that is on my mind.

Games Day US Pics, in Memphis

Pictures from Games Day US have been appearing all over, and I thought I would share parts of several collections that I was looking at. The pic above is a Storm Raptor.

Faeit's Rumor Tarot: Breaking Rumor: Cult Terminators!, Tau Supplements

No enemy can hide its intentions from the threads within the warp. All futures are played out, some are just eventualities, others, more direct and concrete. Shifting through the possible paths of the future, the divination's lead us down the path of enlightenment, and most importantly salvation.

Each week, Faeit's Rumor Tarot will take a look at what rumors came up among the myriad of games that were covered here on Faeit 212. On occasion I will be breaking any weekend developments that were discovered or revealed, so keep a watch out, for on the Faeit's Tarot, you never know what secrets there may be.

Dark Heresy: Join the Beta

Fantasy Flight Games is about to release its second edition of Dark Heresy, a Warhammer 40k roleplaying game. This game has always had its appeal to me, and soon you can take the role of an acolyte, or even an Inquisitor.

Both a single and multi-player game, Space Hulk is a 3D turn based strategy game that will be released across multiple platforms in 2 short weeks. August 15th is the release date, and its available for pre-order now.

Painter's Corner: An Efficient Painting Station

For those that are looking at a mountain of figures to paint, it can be a daunting task, and all too easily a few dozen or even a hundred figures can become a never-ending task. Here I will look at painting figures in a bit more of a clinical manner and less from the “I’m taking however long it takes because I’m enjoying it” standpoint. That is valid of course, it’s an enjoyable hobby and passing the time painting a figure is a delight. But when you just need to get through the rank and file, these tips could be just the thing for you.

Shawn from Blue Table Painting is here on Faeit 212, to give us some great tips for getting the job done, something that all of us at one time or another have to do. So sit down, re-organize your painting table, and lets get some models done.

Codex Supplements: What's On the Designers Tables

Codex Supplements are not the priority releases for Warhammer 40k, nor will they ever push around the codex release schedule. Instead they have been said to be a labor of love within the design teams. What the game designers would love to see, and want to work on, then are worked around into the release schedules.

Codex Supplements: Current Release Schedule

Codex supplements are a huge hit in my book. I want them all to be honest, as the background information is good. I know most people only want their own personal factions within their codices to get a supplement, so I thought it was time to do a quick list of the ones that I have heard are in the works.

Faeit 212 BlogExchange: Blogs From Around the World

This week there are of course new additions to the BlogExchange, and like normal lately, I am once again behind on getting out what should be a Monday afternoon post. So lets take a good look at what should be the next 4 sites you sit down and check out.

Dropzone Commander: The Factions

Dropzone Commander is a 10mm tabletop wargame, that is literally rising to the top. It is simply that good. I was asked about doing to a post on the different factions of the game, I thought I would do a brief overview of each one.

Black Templar Dreadknight?

We have had an abundance of Black Templar rumors from an old playtest set of late. Well, one just about slipped by me, as it comes from somewhere else, and I was working on seeing if there was anymore information on this.

Codex Supplements: The Delay Between Digital and Print

Last week we were talking about the delay between digital supplement releases, and the hardcover version. The Tau Farsight Enclave is not supposed to hit hardcover until October, and there are many reasons for this. This should clarify some of the confusion.

Beil-Tan, Saim-Hann and More Information on Supplements.

Codex Supplements have taken us by storm, and I truly believe that everyone is just dying to hear any information on whether or not their army will get one. Well, when it comes to Eldar, there are two more on the way.

Space Marines: Where are the Rumors?

Space Marines will be one of, and probably the largest release of the year. After all they its Space Marines. For such a important release, we know so very little. We know its coming soon, probably September, with a White Scars supplement that very same month.

Wood Elves Returning?

Whispers of Wood Elves are coming, and with it, saying that they very well could be added to our release list for Warhammer Fantasy. After all I know that Wood Elves are one of those armies that really could use an update, and are an army that I myself am interested in.

Games Workshop's 80's Classic Chainsaw Warrior is Back

Chainsaw Warrior is an single player board game that was released back in the early 80's by Games Workshop. Following the recent trend of GW spreading out its licensing, Chainsaw Warrior is back, and is being produced by Aurochdigital.

Farsight Corrections

Now that the release Farsight Enclave is out now, there were some noticeable errors that we had posted on the site for the codex supplement. I hope this clears up what you can expect out of the Farsight Enclave supplement.

The Black Legion Is Here: Digital Release August

Right now, the big thing about August's White Dwarf is that Lizardmen are revealed for Warhammer Fantasy. The one thing that no one is yet talking about, is that the rumors are true........

Games Day Exclusive Model: Marco Columbo

The August White Dwarf has yet another secret to be revealed. That is the upcoming Games Day exclusive model, Marco Columbo.

The image above is from the 2003 Games Day Espana exclusive release.

Apparently he is a renown explorer credited with the discovery fo Lustria (Warhammer Fantasy). Marco stands above the treasures he has plundered from Lustria, games, gold, etc. From a feather plumed hat, lizard skin cape, and blonde curls, there is a lot of detail in this model. (citadel finecast).

Marco Columbo was done back in 2003 for another games day. Its kind of odd that he would come up again for a new exclusive model. Just to be clear, the new model is a brand new scuplt, standing over his plundered treasures.

Lizardmen Images Have Leaked!!!!

It looks like the rumors are all panning out, as Lizardmen are now confirmed through leaks to be the next release. There are a couple different places you can go to get these right now, either through a video at MiniWargaming TV or over on Dakka who has screen captures of the video posted up.

Tau Mercenaries-Quarter 1 2014 and Eldar Beil Tan

More information is filtering in on a Tau Mercenary codex supplement, and even a date is showing up. This would put us out until early next year, and possibly with a few models. Even the Biel-Tan are mentioned, which would assume that something on them is being worked on.

Tau Mercenary Codex Supplement: Verified

Yesterday we broke a rumor in the weekly rumor round-up, that Tau had a second codex supplement in the works. This would be a Tau Mercenary supplement, that had Kroot and Vespid as the main thrust of it, and included HQ choices for the army.

Lizard Men

We are just waiting for the normal leaks and information to hit about next month's (August) Games Workshop release. The rumors still have it that lizardmen are coming, and this set is detailed enough to be accurate.

Forgeworld: Working on Imperial Armour Vol.2

Imperial Armour 2 is being worked on, and while it is not looking like it will be coming out this year, it lets us in on some of the workings going on at Forgeworld right now.

Blood Bowl to Return

Rumors have had it that Games Workshop is not going to be re-doing Blood Bowl this year, and instead its surprise release will be a new skirmish game called Inquisitor. Fear not Blood Bowl fans, Blood Bowl is not disappearing from the rumor mill, and this might give some future insight to what may be on the horizon.

Error in the Farsight Enclave Digital Book

The Farsight Enclave codex supplement was released yesterday, and over all I believe it was a large success. Now that releases are across multiple digital platforms, the releases are more accessible, however, at least in the Kindle format for Farsight, there is an error.

Faeit's Rumor Tarot: Breaking: New Tau Supplement, Ravenguard, Black Templar

My divination's once were clouded and fraught with peril; they are now clear, and the threads of time have revealed opportunity. Our focus is Black and White, Sword and Shield, and with it, we shall strike into the heart of our enemies, and drive them back to the hells with which came.

What a busy week it has been. Lots of rumors have hit, with the biggest sections being the Black Templar. Of course we had a new skirmish games coming from Games Workshop, followed by news of Sisters of Battle, Ravenguard, and much more.

Otherwise check out the Longbow Howitzer for the UCM above and more beneath the break.

Pandorax Warzone Formations and Rules

Warzone Pandorax is a clash between Abaddon and the Chaos Space Marines against the Imperial Forces, the Dark Angels, Grey Knights, and the Imperial Guard. Lots of fun are in these formations including, the Brass Scorpion of Khorne and the Khorne Tower of Skulls. Lots of fun.

A Tau codex supplement, Farsight Enclave is now available digitally, and even though the hardcover version is not going to be available until October, the rules have been all over the web now for the last 24 hours.

Bushido: First Game In Review- Combat

I was able to get my first game of Bushido in the other day, and it was a lot of fun. I will have to say that I very securely got my butt stomped, but here is my first look into the game.

The Fire Caste is Revealed

The Fire Caste is revealed for Dark Age Games, and it looks hot.

New Releases and Sneak Peaks to be Revealed at Games Day?

It used to be that people went to Games Day mostly (my opinion) to see what new stuff might be on the horizon, and to get a first look at them. Could Games Workshop be taking a step towards this glorious past? and start doing this again? Check out the image above from Games Workshop: Macclesfield Facebook page.
