Dominion is coming this week with lots of other goodies to keep you going into the new edition.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Dominion
Simply put, this is the biggest and best Warhammer Age of Sigmar boxed set that we’ve ever made. With two sizable armies – including all-new units and even a never-before-seen subfaction of the Orruk Warclans – a copy of the updated Warhammer Age of Sigmar Core Book with exclusive full-art cover, and more besides, it’s a truly epic set.

Whether you’re looking to start an army of Sigmar’s foremost warriors, the Stormcast Eternals, or are seeking to expand upon an existing collection with all the new units in the set, Dominion is an absolute no-brainer. The set includes a mighty Lord-Imperatant with accompanying Gryph-hound, a spell-casting Knight-Arcanum, a Knight-Vexillor with Banner of Apotheosis, three each of the elite Praetors and Annihilators, and 10 Vindictors. Not only that, but it includes the huntress supreme, Yndrasta, the Celestial Spear – a legendary hero of the Stormcast Eternals whose knowledge of Ghur, the Realm of Beasts, is second to none.

Meanwhile, the Kruleboyz of the Thondian swamplands are a malicious, spiteful breed of orruks whose presence has, until recently, been shrouded by the cloying mists of their home. Despite being new to the setting, the Kruleboyz can fight alone as an army in their own right or alongside any of the other forces from the Orruk Warclans, so they’re perfect for fresh (if such a word can apply to the Kruleboyz) and existing collections alike. Dominion includes a pair of hulking Killabosses – one riding a Great Gnashtoof, and the other accompanied by a Stab-grot – a Swampcalla Shaman and Pot-grot minion, a Murknob with Belcha-banna, three Man-skewer Boltboyz, 10 murderous Gutrippaz and 20 sneaky Hobgrot Slittaz.

For handy quick reference during battle, Dominion also includes a total of 14 warscroll cards featuring all the profiles and abilities for each unit. You also get a pair of allegiance abilities cards – one for each army – that summarise powerful special rules that apply to each faction.

Finally, Dominion includes a narrative booklet, War at Amberstone Watch, which introduces the lore of the new frontier over which the Stormcast Eternals and Kruleboyz are fighting. Inside, you’ll also find a background of the two factions, as well as a detailed bestiary of the units included in the set.

As an added bonus, if you pre-order your copy of Dominion from Games-Workshop.com, then while stocks last you’ll receive an exclusive set of Coin Malleus Command Tokens in a hinged presentation box. You can use them as command point counters in your games, or you could feed a necklace through the hollow Ghal Maraz design to make a talisman, just like a warrior of a Dawnbringer Crusade.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar Core Book
A new edition launch box wouldn’t be complete without a mighty tome full of rules, background lore, and spectacular art. The 360-page hardback Warhammer Age of Sigmar Core Book is a thing of beauty. It includes all of the information you need to get started in the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, complete with a monstrous background section that brings you right up to speed with all the latest developments in the aftermath of the Broken Realms saga.

The Core Book also includes rules for fighting open play battles, and a section dedicated to the detailed Path to Glory system that lets you grow your forces across progressive narrative campaigns. For competitive play, there’s a matched play Battlepack comprising a set of balanced battleplans.

If you want to celebrate the new edition in style, grab yourself one of 2000 numbered, limited edition copies of the Core Book instead. It comes with an exclusive cover featuring a stylised Coin Malleus design on the front, and fits neatly into the accompanying slip case, which displays stunning artwork of a Stormcast Eternals Annihilator. The book itself is a hand-bound, leather-effect hardback, with three ribbon markers to help easily locate key pages. It oozes such quality that we’re pretty convinced the Grungni the Maker himself may have had a hand in its creation.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar General’s Handbook Pitched Battles 2021 and Pitched Battle Profiles
This handy set of two books contains everything aspiring generals need to face off in competitive pitched battles in Warhammer Age of Sigmar. The Pitched Battle book includes 12 new battleplans designed specifically for competitive matched play. You’ll also find updated rules for all faction-specific endless spells in the new edition, and much more besides.

The Pitched Battle Profiles update the points values for all the Warhammer Age of Sigmar units that are currently supported in the game to rebalance them in line with the new edition. If matched play is your jam, don’t miss out on these essential companion books.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar Path to Glory Diary
The new Path to Glory rules in the Core Book take your army on a progressive campaign over the course of several games. With every battle your army can gain renown, discover fabled artefacts, embark upon quests, conquer territories and even build a stronghold from which to consolidate your growing power. The Path to Glory Diary enables you to easily keep track of your army’s development. In fact, this 152-page journal enables you to record up to 72 games for four different armies, so you certainly won’t be running out of space any time soon.

Realmscape: Ghurish Expanse
The Era of the Beast has almost begun, and what better way to prepare for the glorious wars to come than with a Realmscape battlefield depicting the murky swamps and dusty, barren wastelands of Ghur? This Realmscape set includes two double-sided, fold-out, heavy-duty game boards, each 22.4″ x 30″ in size.

When combined, these boards create a battlefield measuring 44.8″ x 30″ – perfect for 1,000-point games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar. You can add a second set to make an even larger battlefield that matches the recommended size for a 2,000-point game.

Realmscape Objective Set
Many of the battleplans used in Warhammer Age of Sigmar utilise the control of objective markers as a means to determine the winner of the game or to otherwise represent locations of the battlefield. This set of objectives represents a settlement of the Dawnbringer Crusades in various states of disrepair, and includes such features as a sentry bell and shrine to the God-King Sigmar.

Combat Gauge
In games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, measurements of ½”, 1″, 2″, and 3″ are the most commonly used when the battlelines clash in earnest and swirling melees unfurl. The four sides of the Combat Gauge are designed to help you easily measure these key increments with a handy pocket-sized tool. Its front face features the Warhammer Age of Sigmar logo, while the reverse side displays Sigmar’s hammer, Ghal Maraz, with a stylised halo. It’s durable metal construction will see you through many years of gaming to come.

With Dominion just weeks away, we’re preparing our paint brushes and concocting colour schemes for the armies in the box. Citadel Colour is here to help us capture the dank swampiness of the orruk force.

The Kruleboyz hail from the Ghurish swamplands of Thondia, and the muted tones of their green skin and mud-caked leather clothing are quite unlike anything we’ve seen before. Thankfully, the Citadel Colour team have been on the case, and have created three new Base paints to add to the range that are designed to perfectly match these earthy hues.

Base: Orruk Flesh
Capture the rugged green skin tones of the Kruleboyz with Orruk Flesh.

Base: Hobgrot Hide
The hobgrots often seen fighting alongside their Kruleboy Orruk kin look like they’ve just emerged from a mire. Hobgrot Hide is the perfect basecoat for such creatures.

Base: Thondia Brown
The Kruleboyz love to hunt the beasts that roam Ghur’s swamps, partly for fun, but also to use the hide of their prey for clothing and accessories. Replicate the dark, cracked, and worn leather of their outfits with a basecoat of Thondia Brown.
