Anvil's Digital Forge- Pushes New Boundaries in Miniatures

By now you know of Anvil Industry's infantry builder online and their latest push out into the 3D Patreon arena releasing great new customizable infantry. However next month Anvil Industry is taking the next step and it's slipped beneath the radar.

Next month the Digital Forge has given most of its designers the some time off and Joel (their creative designer) is releasing a light/medium Mech to their Patreons.

You will be able to take the STL file and with a Tutorial Video use Blender to repose the legs and arms and other options for the Mech!

Say what!?

Im not going to show the early miniature because its a patreon only image just for Patreons only at this time and is WIP

(the image above is part of a Patreon release a few months ago)

So what he is doing is creating this 85mm tall Mech featuring.

via the Patreon post for Anvil Digital Forge

The finished mech will feature:

  • 50+ separate components
  • Many optional and alternative components, allowing different styles of build
  • Fully detailed interior cockpit and pilot (visible when built with the "open roll cage" option)
  • At least 4 different weapons

Supplied as both pre posed and pre supported "easy print" STL's  AND a file which can be opened in Blender, featuring a fully rigged and re-poseable version of the Mech.

Tutorial Video showing you how to use Blender (Free CAD software) to repose the legs and arms, swap in optional components and export the resulting model for printing.

Here is the best part of all of this. One of the options he is looking at in the near future is this
(from a recent poll of theirs)

Small Drone/Robot "Build your own" Month - this would be a file with a large number of different tracks/wheels/chassis/sensors/weapons/engines and similar which can be combined/scaled/repositioned to make an unlimited number of variant small autonomous vehicles (both ground and flying).

A full video tutorial would be provided with detailed instructions on how to use Blender (excellent free CAD software) to arrange the parts to make up your design.

This clearly shows that future customizing of your miniatures is on their minds using Blender so that you can do some amazing things! No idea what this will end up looking like, but Im already crazy for this type of freedom to create and be flexible for different poses.

Not certain if everyone is as crazy about these ideas as I am, but this is right up my alley. Customizing miniatures has always been get out your blades and start kitbashing.

If you are interested being a part of all that is going on over there at Anvil Industry with their Digital Forge Patreon..... here is your link.
