First up – some important stuff you need to know about the next issue of White Dwarf. It’s coming your way, but you might have to wait a little longer than usual to get your monthly Warhammer fix.

  • The release date is Saturday the 2nd of May – you’ll find it on shelves of any open stockists from this date.
  • The digital edition will be also available to download on the 2nd of May.
  • Subscribers will still get their copies at the usual time, around the middle of April.
  • We’re not taking new subscriptions just now – we’ll let you know when that changes.

Now, let’s get back to your regularly scheduled White Dwarf preview…

Issue 453’s cover features the terrifying Ossiarch Bonereapers – and inside your copy, you’ll find more about them.

The dead have come to claim the bone tithe in this month’s Tome Celestial. It’s all about Vokmortian’s Tithe Legion, who specialise in claiming immense quantities of bone for their dread master, be it by dark pacts or, er, more direct intervention.

You’ll gain new insights into the Tithe Legion’s history, motives and organisation – as well as painting guides for both Classic and Contrast Methods, and three new warscroll battalions to use in your games.

There’s plenty more this month from the Mortal Realms and beyond – check out the full list of contents.

For Warhammer 40,000 fans, there’s the start of an exciting new ongoing feature.

The White Dwarf team have created a Space Marine Chapter – the aptly named Tome Keepers – and the first instalment of “Founding of a Chapter” details the origins of this project, how they came up with their name and colour scheme, and gives some ideas for how you can join them and design your very own Chapter.

This issue also includes a suite of new rules for Deathwatch armies, including new Stratagems, Litanies of Battle and more. Keep an eye out soon for more details on these awesome additions to your alien-hunting army.

Of course, there’s plenty more content for both Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000 – as well as Warcry, Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress and more. One of the many interesting features this month comes from the underhive.

If you’ve ever lost your Leader in a hard-fought gang fight (and who among us hasn’t?), you’re sure to appreciate new rules for Resurrection packages. Revive your Leader to continue their rise to glory – though beware, for they may end up a little different. Whether they’re given a new lease of life by Archeo-rebirth, Daemonic Possession or any one of six other means, there will be consequences…
This is just a small taster of what you can find in this month’s White Dwarf.
