At the time of writing, the Warhammer preview seminar at the Las Vegas Open (one of the world’s largest Warhammer events) is just drawing to a close and, oh boy, was it a good one. I know we say this every time, but this might just be the coolest line up of reveals and previews yet!
If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry, we have all the news for you, right here…
The new edition of Age of Sigmar brought a lot of new tricks to the game, and soon, more armies than ever will be able to take full advantage of them – 2019 will see new battletomes for every Grand Alliance! Some brand-new armies will be joining the fray, as well as classic armies updated for the new edition.
With Gloomspite Gitz already on shelves, and Flesh-eater Courts and Skaven on their way, we look ahead to the next battletome: Blades of Khorne.

The servants of the Blood God are about to get a lot more lethal. Inside the new battletome, you’ll find ways to customise your Khorne army as never before, with rules for dedicating your collection to a variety of Khornate sub-factions.

What’s more, Khorne armies can look forward to even more new models, hot on the heels of Wrath and Rapture last year, with a redesigned Skulltaker…

…and a host of summoned Khornate phenomena. Don’t call them “endless spells” – you’ll just make the Blood God angry. Instead, these are pure manifestations of Khorne’s wrath, brought into being by the brutal clamour of war and, of course, the copious spilling of blood.

The Next Chapter in the Soul Wars

One of the great things about Warhammer Age of Sigmar is the rich, evolving narrative. The background for the Mortal Realms is growing all the time, with the past few years having taken us through the epic battles of the Realmgate Wars, through the fledgling conquests of the Seeds of Hope, to last year’s Soul Wars. This tectonic shift in the status quo sawNagash rise to supremacy, the emergence of the Nighthaunt, and Sigmar forced to open the Sacrosanct Chamber. Now, in 2019, the Soul Wars continue – and something ancient and terrible is awakened…

Answer the Call of Chaos

That’s not all. Later this year, we’ll be taking you to the darkest heart of the Mortal Realms – beyond death, beyond Sigmar and beyond sanity. Get ready to play Warhammer Age of Sigmar as you’ve never seen it before, in a new game that draws on some of the best bits of Warhammer Underworlds and Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team
The Allpoints await  are you worthy?
Warhammer Underworlds: Nightvault, continues to go from strength-to-strength, with each new release adding exciting new game mechanics and stunning new models.
Ylthari’s Guardians encapsulate the mercurial beauty of the Sylvaneth. Based on the Spite-Revenants and Tree-Revenants, these mystical guardians feature design elements from across the entire Sylvaneth range, making for a characterful group. But that’s not all they are…
Ylthari’s Guardians feature a distinct play style that takes everything you love about the Sylvaneth – durability, flexibility and magical power – and translates it perfectly into the intense, competitive scale offered by Warhammer Underworlds. If you’re looking to turn over a new leaf and fancy branching* out into a new warband, this is the one for you!
You know who we’ve not seen a lot of lately? The Black Legion.
Since the events of the Gathering Storm and the fall of the Cadian Gate, we know that these ebon-clad villains are rampaging across the galaxy, spreading carnage throughout the Imperium Nihilus. So far, they have been obscured by the darkness beyond the Great Rift – but now, they have finally reached Vigilus.
We’ll give you a moment. This is a big one.
Shadowspear is a new battlebox. Like Forgebane, Tooth and Claw and Wake the Dead, you’ll find two armies, ready to fight. But there’s a twist – every single model in the box is a brand-new sculpt. Inside, you’ll find the Chaos miniatures you’ve always wanted, updated and adorned with dark and gothic detail, and pitted against them are the first of the Primaris Vanguard Space Marines.
The Vanguard Space Marines add a new tool to the arsenal of the Adeptus Astartes.
Trained in covert operations, these ruthless killers operate behind enemy lines as saboteurs, assassins and infiltrators. While the Intercessors and Tactical Squads execute their wars out in the open, these guys fight in the shadows – and they fight dirty.
Vanguard Space Marine Librarians sometimes lead these strike forces. They are masters of shrouding and stealth, allowing their battle-brothers to strike at enemy forces when they’re least expected…
Eliminators are dead-eye snipers. From concealed positions, these expert marksmen target and take out key enemy leaders, utilising a range of exotic and deadly ammunition tailored to their target. No heretic lord or xenos commander is safe.
In the Chaos forces, the Master of Possessions is a sinister sorcerer versed in the forbidden art of using hosts of living flesh to house daemonic spirits. Armed with an array of spells that aid Daemonic allies and corrupt his enemies, the Master of Possessions is a terrifying force on the battlefield.
Chaos Space Marines are one of the most iconic Warhammer 40,000 units, and the models in Shadowspear bring them to life in all the warp-spawned majesty they deserve. Clad in baroque armour and armed with vicious weapons, these dynamic and detailed miniatures perfectly capture the look of Heretic Astartes fresh from a 10,000-year stint in the Eye of Terror and ready to carve up some loyalist dogs.

You may have seen Obliterators before, but not like this! Bigger, bulkier and packing more firepower than ever, these hulking brutes are festooned with grisly biomechanical detail. They look right at home in the company of even the most corrupt of daemon-forged war machines.
Speaking of which…
A new class of Daemon Engine, the Venomcrawler is a skittering horror that provides withering infernal fire support. This thing is so saturated in the taint of the Warp that its presence thins the veil of reality itself, allowing Daemons easier access to realspace.
Incredible, right? Well, guess what – this isn’t even everything in the box. Don’t worry, you won’t have to wait too much longer to see what else the new Shadowspear box has in store: everything will be revealed soon here on warhammer-community.com.
Back in 2017 (how time flies…) we asked you for your thoughts on the Warhammer hobby and gave you the chance to help shape the years ahead. The Big Community survey was a huge success, with over 100,000 of you sharing your thoughts and opinions. A year and some on and a whole host of things from your wish list are now a reality: the StormCastand VoxCast podcasts, webcomics like Roll Models, more articles every day, and, of course, who could forget plastic Sisters of Battle?!
Your voice made a difference, and very soon, you’ll again have your chance to have a say with the 2019 Big Community Survey. Together, we’ll usher in even more great initiatives and continue to make the Warhammer hobby the most awesome-est.
Perhaps the most hotly anticipated item from the 2017 survey was the Sisters of Battle. We know just how much you’re looking forward to the new Adepta Sororitas, and so we’re happy to confirm that Codex: Adepta Sororitas is still on track (and looking more than a little great so far).
We promised we’d keep you up to date every step of the way, and so far, we have, with previews and even the chance to playtest the rules yourself. Continuing in that vein, we’re very excited to announce the Battle Sister Bulletin, a regular series – right here on warhammer-community.com – that’ll be packed with previews and insights until they arrive. Think of it as your one-stop shop for the very latest on the Adeptus Soritas.
Look out for the first Battle Sister Bulletin within the next couple of weeks.
Oh, and to further reward your faith while you wait, here’s a first look at another incredible new Sisters of Battle model.

Tonight’s preview wasn’t all about heroes on the tabletop. We also took the opportunity to name this year’s lineup of Warhammer Heroes – those champions of the Warhammer hobby nominated by you, the community, for the good work they’ve done within the Warhammer community and for noble causes around the globe.
Amongst this year’s nominations were some truly inspirational stories, and we’re delighted today to unveil those who went above and beyond and truly earned the title of Warhammer Hero.
Thanks again to all of you who sent in your nominations. We’ll share more on some of these inspiring stories soon.

And One More Thing…

So, we’ve got new Sisters of Battle, incredible plastic Chaos Space Marines, brand-new Primaris units, battletomes, Warhammer Underworlds warbands – but it feels like something is missing…
Well, it wouldn’t be a reveal without a new Primaris Lieutenant, would it?
He’s coming. Get ready.
