From design insights to Necromunda’s most customisable gang, May’s White Dwarf is one you won’t want to miss – join us as we check out what we’re looking forward to most…

The Idoneth Deepkin are one of Warhammer’s most ambitiously designed armies ever, exploring a world that’s never been examined before – the depths of the oceans. This month’s White Dwarf is the perfect companion to your new Idoneth Deepkin models, featuring notes from the designers highlighting hidden design features and the stories behind why each miniature looks the way it does.

If you like battle reports, this month’s is a particular treat, pitting no fewer than FOUR massive Warhammer 40,000 forces against one another in a 2v2 showdown, with one key twist – neither side gets to look at the other’s deployment!
Meanwhile, in the Mortal Realms, the Idoneth Deepkin are put to the test against the forces of Nagash on the magnificent new River of Souls board we previewed last month

This month’s White Dwarf is particularly exciting for Necromunda fans, featuring rules for making Venator gangs – essentially, a flexible set of profiles that allow you to let your imagination run wild and design any kind of gang you want, representing a pack of Bounty Hunters brought together in a grand hunt through the underhive.

Everything from skill sets, to unit profiles, to weapons can be mixed and matched in a Venator gang – you can even have your fighters hail from one of the great Gang Houses. These gangs promise to be a treat for converters and tinkerers looking to build profiles for their favourite models, or narrative gamers looking to properly represent some long-lost piece of lore or even a faction of their own invention.

It’s not just news about games – May’s White Dwarf is a game! In a first for the magazine, the back page can be used as the game board for Duels of the Crystal Labyrinth, a thrilling and fast-paced game that pits two rival Sorcerers of Tzeentch against one another. All you’ll need is some models to represent your chosen wizards and some Horrors.

Finally, this issue of White Dwarf features a glimpse at an awesome upcoming new model – the Aeldari Webway Gate! After years of being an iconic part of the Warhammer 40,000 background, this huge scenery piece finally brings the webway to life on your tabletop – keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks for when this goes on pre-order…

The Webway Gate will be accompanying the release of Codex: Harlequins. We’re happy to confirm that this codex, alongside Codex: Deathwatch, will be out in May, and we’ll be running extensive previews on both as we get ready for them to go on pre-order.
