The NOVA Open, held in Arlington Virginia, has grown in recent years to become one of the biggest independent Warhammer gaming events in the world. With almost 1,500 attendees expected this year, it promises to be a weekend to remember.
The Warhammer Community Team and the Warhammer Studio will be in attendance, not just to broadcast live from the top tables of the event, but also hosting seminars and Q&As on all manner of Warhammer related topics.
The full lineup of seminars for the event has just been released, and it looks like those of you attending this year are in for a treat.
In Games Workshop Studio seminars, you’ll be able to talk with the team behind the upcoming Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire and other projects, and ask your questions of the team behind these huge game releases.
In Community seminars, the Warhammer Community team chat about recent projects, from Warhammer TV’s painting videos and live games, the Warhammer Community website, and how interaction with the wider gaming community is helping to shape the future of the Warhammer hobby and games.
Warhammer TV’s Duncan (from the telly) will be running a series of painting tutorials on a range of topics from using the Citadel Paint System, to metallics, special effects and basing.
Adam Troke, studio manager for our Middle-earth™ team, will have a dedicated seminar to discuss the latest news (and previews) from The Hobbit™ Strategy Battle Game. There will also be a question and answer session where you can ask all your burning questions on matters related to Middle-earth™.
In the Writing for Black Library seminars, author Andy Smillie discusses writing Warhammer fiction. Best known for his visceral Flesh Tearers fiction, as well as his exploration of the darker aspects of the Blood Angels Legion, this will be a great seminar if you’re looking for insights into the descendants of Sanguinius, or just Black Library generally.
Finally, there’s the Games Workshop Preview seminar. If you only go to one seminar at NOVA, it’s got to be this one.
This is the first such preview seminar since the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 landed – be the first in the world to see some upcoming new releases, hear community news and maybe even try out a new game…
Of course, The NOVA Open is also a huge tournament location and will be hosting events for Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, The Horus Heresy, Blood Bowl and The Hobbit™ Strategy Battle Game and more, so there’s no shortage of things to get involved in.
Spaces for all of these seminars and tournaments are expected to fill up fast.

For those of you that can’t make it, Warhammer Live will be broadcasting from the top tables of the event, and we’ll be blogging live, so you can stay up to date on the highlights. There’s nothing quite like being there though, so we hope to see you there.
