Tactics would be to put the chaplin in deep strike along with the two teams of vanguard vets. The assault squads take a rhino each and the centurions, sternguard and captain take the landraider. This means that I have half the units on the board and half in deep strike. First turn the transports blast up the field, with the vanguard vets either deep striking now or the next turn when all the units get out of transports.
Turn two, hoping that the transports survive well enough, the assault squads, sternguard, centurions and captain leap out, shoot everything, then charge everything left.
And yes, I know there's a lot of thunder hammers here, but let's face it, they're awesome.
This list stems from my planned 8th edition purchases of two boxes of vanguard vets and a burning of prospero box, turning the mk3 marines into assault marines with the spare chainswords and then selling off the other bits to make back the cost of the box.
