Warmachine: Cryx, Circle, and Retribution Army Boxes Announced

Privateer Press has had an amazing week of announcements, with THREE army boxes announced on their main page, rather than the roundabout route of going through social media that they've been trying out lately. The undead legions of Cryx and the mysterious druids of the Circle Oroboros got their announcements late last week, while the angry elves of the Retribution of Scyrah saw their box appear on the site just yesterday.

Details on the contents of each of the boxes after the break.

Cryx

Contents:
• Wraith Witch Deneghra (eDeneghra)
• Leviathan Helljack
• 2 Nightwretch Bonejacks
• Bane Riders Unit
• Bane Thralls Unit
• Bane Thrall Officer & Standard Unit Attachment
• Warwitch Siren Solo

Pretty much all your standard cryxian choices (note the moar banes approach). The only thing that comes off as odd is the inclusion of the Leviathan helljack with a Deneghra list, but since they aren't putting any character warjacks into these boxes, pretty much any helljack would have seemed out of place. At $129.00, this box is an absolute steal, seeing as bane thralls are one of the most expensive units of infantry in the game and you get the full kit for them!

Circle Oroboros

Contents:
• Kromac the Ravenous
• Warpwolf Stalker Heavy Warbeast
• Gnarlhorn Satyr Heavy Warbeast
• Gorax Light Warbeast
• Tharn Blood Pack Unit
• Shifting Stones Unit
• Stone Keeper Unit Attachment
• Lord of the Feast Solo

This one's a little more odd. Good beast selection, but the Lord of the Feast throws me. I just don't see him used ever. I also rarely see the Gnarlhorn taken with Kromac, but that's more likely due to the prevalence of Ghetorix, again a character beast. Getting a Warlock model that has two different forms is super awesome though, again this box definitely gets you your money's worth.

The Retribution of Scyrah

Contents:
• Warcaster Issyria, Sibyl of Dawn
• Banshee Heavy Myrmidon
• Manticore Heavy Myrmidon
• Houseguard Halberdier Unit (10)
• Houseguard Halberdier Officer & Standard Unit Attachment
• Houseguard Rifleman Unit (10)
• Arcanist Solo
• Houseguard Thane Solo
• Eiryss, Mage Hunter of Ios Mercenary Solo

Gonna be honest, if I was going to buy one of these boxes to start a new army, this would be the one. It's got everything a new retribution player wants except for a couple of Mage Hunter Assassins. The only real upgrade you can give it would be to purchase more powerful Myrmidons, but the Banshee and Manticore are by no means useless. I'd say that this box hands down wins the award for most play ready right out of the gate.
