The Latest Rumors and News

I have reinstalled the rumor system that we have used in the past. One thing to remember about rumors is that they are just people who are letting us know what they heard or saw. Its still incredible to me that people hack on these individuals who do nothing but give their time to report what they have heard or seen and call them liars. I am personally now going through comments twice daily and removing comments from posts that are being stupid and insulting, or that go off topic. Any source here on Faeit 212 that I do not have any insight on them giving information based on that (not just wishlisting) would not be here, regardless of accuracy.

Sometimes to often I have to remove information that would validate where the information comes from. No rumor or info bit is worth someone losing a job for.

Dark Eldar

There are quite a few whispers being heard about a Dark Eldar release, and while I we sift through these, some constant mumblings seem to correlate with each other, bring the release and the rumors closer together.

A reduced price Incubi box(which is drastic, it seems, becoming cheaper than Wracks are now).

Two items named "Dark Eldar: Covens" and "Dark Eldar: Wyches" for the same price as a 7th Ed Codex. Now I can't say with much certainty what these are, but based on their price and title, I think they might be supplements.

In addition to that, I have seen the normal 7th Ed priced 'Codex: Dark Eldar" and the "Codex: Dark Eldar Limited Edition" that is a bit cheaper than others.

Also of interest is the "Dark Eldar Tantalus"  that I found that is four dollars cheaper than three Terminator boxes. If this Tantalus entry pans out, I would assume it is our version of the Imperial Knight/Baneblade/Stompa.

The Dark Eldar comes soon after the last Endtimes release in mid September.

-3 Week Release
-No complete new Units or Characteres
-Chars without Models are gone
-Separate relics for the wych cult & the kabals
-Vect is a LoW
-Wracks are the only finecasts get a replacement
-New Warmachine for Vect

He gave me some insight into what he had seen in early drafts of the book from the design team. I would consider these 1-2 star rumors, more of logical speculation on his end based on what he had seen:

- Eldar special rules were being thrown around as an idea, Ancient Doom and a form of Battle Focus that let warriors run/shoot in the same phase and Wyches run/assault in the same turn.

- Points decreases for the elites and troops sections, by about 1-2 ppm, but increases to raiders, ravagers, and venoms by about 5 points. The net result was units in transports costing about the same.

- Obviously the model-less characters were taken out - Vect is a lord of war, but baron, duke, malys, and the decapitator are gone.

- No new unit entries that he had seen, but repackaged models. I asked him about plastic incubi, mandrakes, grotesques and wracks, clampacks or the voidraven, and he said he honestly hadn't seen anything concrete on them, so couldn't say one way or the other but wouldn't be surprised since finecast had been removed from most new books that still had any.

- No info on warlord traits unfortunately, but said that the drug chart was being refined to mesh with 7th ed special rules (specifically, the drug that gives 3d6 run pick the highest is removed, since that is essentially fleet, which many units have already).

- Confirmed that, as we all knew, the wargear section for haemies was being shortened, possibly turned into relics. Hallmarks like venom blades, huskblades, soul traps, shadow fields, agonisers should still be there in the generic wargear section. In his words, "shocked if they took those out".

Overall, more of a streamlining similar to the GK dex, but without removing much other than the named characters. Should still play the same, but have more continuity with the current rules, and with the warlord traits and new FOC (didn't elaborate on what it might look like) will have much more added than lost, unlike GK.

Said he wouldn't be shocked if we also get plastic kits for some of the finecast options, to make the release similar to Orks. Certainly didn't feel like a nerf in his opinion, but did go a long way to limit the viability of things like jetseer lists that relied on the 2++ of the baron.

Release Order

The End Times are here already, and Dark Eldar are being rumored to be next with a 3 week release. Very exciting times are ahead, and it looks like we will be seeing Blood Angels, and more End Times before the year is done.

No Games Day or Warhammer Fest in the US

via Father Gabe on Faeit 212 ****
It is now official, hot on the heals of NA Games Workshop's recent HSC.  Games Day US is not happening, Warhammer Fest is not happening.  Explanations were not provided by speakers, corporate staff, etc.  No word on if something will happen next year but there is a general indication that GW might be hitting up the major conventions (GenCon, AdeptiCon) in the coming years a little more agressively.

At GenCon this year with their small booth (Which was odd compared to the size of booths of small start up companies) they raked in over $150k, which does not include ForgeWorld sales.  Imagine if they had a bigger booth, interactive gaming area for new comers, etc?

Armies on Parade is going on, however it is only at the store level.  There is no larger competition for top (3) winners.  Some managers have expressed having a "finals" with area stores (if they are fortunate to have other GW retail stores) but that is unofficial.  No word yet on if the winners will get those snazzy medals anymore or it will be some lame certificate.  Competition is Aug 30 - Oct 25.

Sorry ladies and gents with no good news, as usual I will continue to provide information as I intercept, beg, panhandle, strong arm for it.

No Rumors Beyond this Point
I am rating what I personally think of the rumors (not the source). This is based off of behind the scenes knowledge, what different sources are saying, and general logic and guesswork. It goes like this. Remember that a source is often just letting us know what he knows or has seen...... Nothing more, nothing less.

5 Stars. If its got a 5 star rating, Although still rumor, its only so because nothing has been officially announced (These are on the level of Natfka either has seen this personally, or the Rumor Information is just undeniable and confirmed )

4 Stars is a very reliable rumor, and comes from someone I generally know to be in a good place, or the rumors match up well. These are not facts!, and I often have information that at least lets know the information comes from something real and solid. These are still rumors, and even great sources can have some information wrong on occasion. (think hastings-like, or close to that).

3 Stars, is a decent rumor. Should be looked at with some truth in it. An average rumor (most will fall here). Rumor based off of real information, discussion, or we do not know where it falls. (Like I said, most will fall here, and this is the baseline.) In general, unless I know a lot more information about the rumor, it will fall here.

2 stars. Most likely speculation, but sound OK. Every once in a while these have something (think Natfka doesn't really think this is happening, but ya never know)

1 Star. Way out in left field, and I feel that these are probably just wild speculation or made up. (think whoa, where the hell did this come from, and generally posted up because its fun, or Natfka was bored)
